You can see Irvine's brain's left side switch into gear to use his left foot after the slightest of nudges by a team mate removes the initial lining up to slot it right footed. Could've ended horribly but a firm downward left foot puts it in.

Good shift by Iredale. Bit like Duke where the home team attacked and he saw less of the ball. Some good touches and nice runs off the ball. A secondary assist and got past a moon to shoot a bit over from an angle. Got to be brought in for the next window gig rt him exposed to the set up. Easily our best natural finisher.

Souttar bench. Probably expected this time around. Plenty of football in this league though. Ipswich Rotherham postponed last night due to unplayable pitch.

Glover, Silvera bench. McGree still healing. Triantis bench.

Iredale bench. No Peupion (not sure if injured but surely it can't be based on ability for a team that just scored  their first goal all season) AMB and Bilokapic starting. Watts bench while Dougall starts. Elder still post hernia op recovery. Robertson starting while Yengi on bench for that impact again.

JRB and Bouzanis starting.

All 3 Aussies starting for Hibs vs Rangers. St Mirren PP and Hearts host Celtic tomorrow.

Kuol starting. Bos, Toure bench.

Garang played 78 mins. Bos 12 mins. Mo only came on in the 90th min. Goodwin started. No mins for Volpato, Silvera or Souttar. Rangers destroyed Hibs. Robertson with pretty much a full game & Yengi 13 mins in another Portsmouth win - undefeated for the season.

The sizes of the bench in Italy is just ridiculous. Surely some of these pros would be better of going elsewhere to play regularly? Italy should cap it and the a better spread could happen and a decent Serie B. Volpato has to get out, Hrustic too. If you're good enough you'll play but the number of options makes it difficult to break into the team.

Speaking of Italy, no Popovic (again) on matchday squad at Catania. I believe the talk is the manager might get his orders with another loss..

I've only just worked out that he is unable to play until January 1 (must be due to the transfer deadline?) and was apparently injured for a couple games before that.

Heart v Celtic

Rowles: just okay, some nice defence but some of his passing wasn't great. 6/10

Nieuwenhof : couldbt keep up with the speed of game and high pressing by Celtic. Often lost possession and couldn't link up in mid field. Once he came off Heart was much better  2/10

Devlin: Very impressive. Worked hard and gave his all 100%. One of a few that standout for Heart. 7.5/10

Are these your ratings or did you copy & paste from somewhere? 2/10 for Nieuwenhof is ridiculous - I saw him create 2 scoring chances with a couple of great through balls and some good link up play, when Hearts actually had possession. Rowles was one of their best & Devlin was decent. Hearts pretty much bypassed the midfield & hoofed it long to their forwards, so Nieuwenhof & Devlin did well considering they were up against the best midfield in the SPL.

Ratings as per Edinburgh Evening News:

Rowles 6 Read the game well and tackled strongly.
Devlin 6 No lack of endeavour from the Australian in midfield.
Nieuwenhof 5 Gave the ball away too often in the first half. Could have been subbed earlier.

Not gonna lie, starting to get concerned about Triantis at Sunderland. He might be another who went too early and should’ve stayed at least one more year, get another 25+ games under his belt, like so many others.

Yeah an immediate EFL/SPL loan was needed. Waiting for Australian football to restart is annoying.

No McGree. Glover and Silvera bench.

Dougall, Robertson starting. Iredale, Yengi bench. Bilokapic, AMB starting.

JRB starting

Souttar and Triantis face off from the bench. It's still been a vast improved 6 weeks for Souttar given the scheme of things. Still wedged as he'll be expensive on loan wages and Leicester will want to break even if transferred

Wouldn't mind seeing Monty take Triantis on loan for second half of season if he's not going to get more game time
Would be good for him to get minutes before the Olympics and hibs centre backs arnt great.
Plus Sunderland and Edinbough arn' that far away

Ugh good low shot goes in. Wouldn't say entirely out of Ryan's reach but just the speed of it. It's that conceded goal where you wonder why the keeper drops dead to their side and doesn't glide across to cover. Bit like Grabara vs United where he just drops and doesn't move sideways whereby definitely stopping it.

Second goal for Villa. Stupid AZ turnover in midfield and Villa can just diagonal ball it to release Tielemanns and he can slot it between Ryan's legs. Frustrating to watch.
