You're the one randomly overreacting to meaningless shit, I laughed when we lost to Japan too, as well as most Australians, because our whole system is shit... and was ages ago. He has never said he doesn't want to represent Australia and actually has said the opposite and yes he isn't ready yet, he needs to establish himself at his club which is exactly why he has turned down all the opportunities. I know a lot more about Volpato than you do and have watched every minute and everything he has said and your assumptions are quite far off. His ego and his heart are with his club which is perfectly fine. I say we shouldn't cap him until he is playing consistently which he is starting to but give it more of a sample size, and that's for his sake and our sake because if he becomes a regular in a top 5 league than we or Italy will reap the benefits in the future. I just wish people would stop being so dogmatic with tall poppy syndrome and just relax. We already have him. He'll probably make the U23 Asian Cup team so that'll be a good chance to evaluate him, but he seems to be a very good scorer which we lack at Olyroos level.

I'm pretty sure he has lost his spot, given quite bit of an opportunity but really hasn't delivered so far.
