Random facts I just learned about Real Sociedad: - They’re in the Europa League
- They have 4 former EPL players: David Silva, Adnan Januzaj, Nacho Monreal, Mikel Merino
- Their captain is former Real Madrid CDM Asier Illarramendi

+xMaty linked with Real Sociedad in Spanish press. Yeah, just saw that elsewhere. Did not expect RS to be one of the clubs after him. Fantastic move if he is starter but worried he will collect splinters. However, I think (hope) he would have obtained some assurances after his Valencia experience.

Very interesting move for Maty, he would go up against 6"4 Remiro for the no 1 spot, maybe Maty might be better with his feet? not sure.

I'd say Maty would be better with his feet but not sure how important that is to RS. The thing that worries me is that this looks like a cheap, direct replacement for their back-up keeper who has just left.

This is confusing. According to kick360 Maty would be the No. 1 keeper if he goes to Sociedad, however the article they link to says he would be replacing Moya who was the No. 2 keeper.

John Iredale named on the bench in a friendly against Borrusia Dortmund's U23s, plenty of first team players involved: https://twitter.com/SCPaderborn07/status/1411622689006141442?s=19

Thinking about Ryan’s supposed lack of height, it’s interesting to look at the height of some of the Euro keepers. According to Wiki, Jan Sommer of Switzerland is 183 cm, Pickford is 185 cm, compared with Ryan at 184 cm. So there are some decent keepers out there who aren’t all 190 cm plus. Having said that, I’m yet to be convinced that Ryan is 184 cm (6ft, 0.5 inches in the old money). I’ve never seen him up close in person, but looking at the height of other players compared to Ryan my guess is that he is more like 180-181 cm.

Vuka started a friendly but went off injured after 12 mins. Minor injury apparently.

Rose scored Gibbs scored a brace the other day
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

+xBorrello has moved permanently to Dynamo Dresden. Promoted to Bundesliga 2. How good is B2? I feel like its not that good since Kruse did well over there and Borello isn't that good as we have seen from his international appearances.

It's always improving on the field and it has the largest number of big traditional clubs ever.

+xJackson Irvine to St Pauli in 2. Bundesliga Sigh. Had touted him for Hannover for so long. Hannover are broke though. Kept getting told he wouldn't leave the UK. An absolute steal on a free valued at 2m.

Well look at that. Iredale, Irvine and Borrello all a direct train away. And they'll be coming to visit.

73 minutes for Ingham in a 2-0 loss to Kawasaki Frontale, a respectable result.

Coach said he has been tracking him personally for the last four years. So this grown man was tracking a 14 year old boy ?
I think there’s a law for that

The more I think about it the more I feel this Robertson kid isnt going to play for us, and fair enough too we got plenty of good young talent that gives me optimism for the future.

it's a decent move for Irvine, Hibs will likely be knocked out early from the European Confrence League and then all that's left will be the league in where they can't really improve given the gap in finances, maybe could've stayed another season and gave the cup another crack given he missed the sitter in the final but no guarantees they'd reach it again. St Pauli get around double the supporters (well before rona) in the ground compared to Hibs and it's of course a higher level with a higher pay bracket so he's done well, so long as he isn't sitting wasting a bench it's all positive.

I agree we've got some good young lads coming through, but we're not like the big boys, we can't really afford to lose quality young players like him (doing well in 2nd team squad at Man City at 17). He's probably a dime a dozen in England, but he'd be in the top 3 in his age group for us, if not top, so I'd be monitoring his progress at Ross County extremely closely & if he does well probably caping him for Socceroos before Scotland & Peru get there first!! As I said before, he'll never play for England - Bellingham has only played a few minutes at the Euro's and he's a far better player and probably 6th in the midfield pecking order for their top team

I can't name a better 18 year old Australian CM. This first senior season will be make or break.
