I get the sense a LOT of people stayed away in Adelaide coz of the weather. Two people that were coming with me bailed an hour before it was time to leave for example.
I'm not making excuses - the crowd was poor BUT it was bucketing down all day here.
Crazy thing was the rain literally stopped just for the 2 hours of the game so anyone that went was fine but all the weather apps had sever storm warnings etc and it rained the 10 hours leading up to the game like crazy.

+xBrisbane are probably going through the same thing Sydney were going through last season, but doubly so. The team is uninspiring, the ownership has checked out, and fans are tired of schlepping out to Redcliffe to watch dross. Who can blame them? The best opportunity for a reset is that the Bakries cede control of the club and they move back to central Brisbane full time, either at Suncorp or (preferably in my view), Perry Park with temporary seating, in line with what Perth has just done with Macedonia Park. The BR CEO was on one of the podcasts last week saying BR are in the process of moving their admin base back to a location near Suncorp and plan on eventually moving back to Suncorp full time. Re Perry Park, if Perth Glory’s stint at Macedonia Park with temp seating works, then maybe teams such as BR and WU could look into this as well. Filling Perry Park every week might pressure the QLD Govt into finally building that long-needed 15,000-20,000 boutique stadium. As for the crowds last weekend… All crowds were very poor, perhaps with the exception of maybe MacArthur (Sydney travelling fans). Unfortunately, it feels like the new season novelty is already wearing off. I said before the start of the season a realistic season average target is 8,500-9,000. Well, we are already below 9,000. Unless we get a post World Cup spike, we won’t even finish above an 8,000 average. We’re gonna be relying on Melbourne Victory and the Sydney derbies to keep the numbers up.

+xWould have been much less without Nani I doubt anyone went to that game who otherwise wouldn't have just because Nani was playing. +xAbout the timeslot for the Brisbane match, how come it wasn’t scheduled simultaneously with the Mariner’s match when that was the case in round 1?
Because Fox . Oh wait ...

+x+x7021 at Campbelltown. Record for them. How many of them do you reckon were Sky Blue fans? The Macarthur areas were more full than the previous game and there were a couple of Sydney areas the had good numbers so I reckon Sydney could have had 3,000 or so there.

TBF ( I hate them BTW ) if the results keep on coming then that figure will surely rise as the season goes on.

And Scotland only has half the population of Greece as well. Per head of population , more people go to football matches in Scotland than anywhere else in Europe. ( Proper leagues ) The Tony Macaroni stadium is quite decent BTW , holds 10,200 or so. Still too big for Livy though.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xWSW v Jets - 9,000 BR v MV - 6,500 CCM v WU - 6,500 Bulls v SFC - 3,500 AU v PG - 9,000 City v Nix - 6,500 FTB, I am interested in your thinking for the Roar home game. They have had 8,500 and 7,900 at home so far. Why would a game against Victory draw significantly less than both of those? First two games were at Lang Park. This is at Redcliffe. It is also the dumbest kickoff time ever heard of. 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. Saturday afternoon games are traditionally horrible drawing for Brisbane and this is even earlier. Brisbane's worst crowd of all time was when they scheduled a 3pm kickoff v Mariners many years ago. Think it was around 4.5k at Lang Park and this was while crowds were at a decent level. Nani will be the only draw card for non regulars. Seriously? you have a problem with a 2pm Saturday as a kickoff time??? It's the typical start time for almost every football league around the world. I unfortunately cannot attend the game this Saturday however, I will attend a game at any time provided I am not at work. I said, early Saturday afternoon in Brisbane has been shown as the worst time for crowds in Brisbane traditionally. I'm not a demographer I can't give you the reasons but I'd imagine junior sport and Saturday is a working day for many people. Saturday nights are traditionally Brisbane's strongest crowds which points to the fact people want to attend but 2pm on a Saturday afternoon while convenient for some is absolutely not for many. On top of that for this game you have the absolute cluster the club has been through the last couple of weeks however some of that may be offset by non regulars wanting to see Nani. Overall the crowd will be lower than the first two games without a doubt. Friday nights - too hard for families and kids. Saturday afternoons - clashes with community sport. Saturday nights - too hard for families and kids. Sundays - leave us alone, we want some time to ourselves, and besides, the public transport is terrible....and possibly the weather might be bad too. Paramount + is for you mate. All the major sports play in those exact timeframes so its impossible to find any other times to suit you. Need football on Sundays because many do watch it then. Often better than going to visit boring and arrogant relatives as an alternative. that was my point. everyone complains that matches are not scheduled perfectly for prime time tv broadcasts...and then everyone complains that matches are not scheduled perfectly for families to attend games. its just whinge whinge whinge 2pm Saturday is a gift Agreed. If it does not suit, its streaming that they need to watch any match at one's leisure.

It does get a bit like that. Having said that, local circumstances of different states and cities can mean, say, Saturday 5pm might be preferred to Saturday 3pm, or Fri/Sat nights do best, etc. If there is a definite case to be made for one or the other for particular cities, then it makes sense you try and cater for that specific proclivity. Of course, a small percentage will still complain bitterly about whatever time is chosen.
