+x+xWhat a fantastic match last night lads.... you did us, your families and yourselves proud... Didnt panic, didnt rush the play, stayed focused and fearless... Jordi, Max, Andy, Javi, Mario, Lucas and of course, in his final hurrah, big Harry.... excellent boys... lets win the farking lot.... VAMOS!!!! enjoyable viewing last night as I hoped for after the Roos debacle..... Shame about the weather buggered the crowd - after the 1st half I thought christ Hume have hope and their first goal was very well set and taken. They play alright. Nothing like digging in and carry on the fight to the end mate, deserved win in the end congrats - it is a good season no matter what else occurs onwards but will be right behind SMH next game - go Oak I say. Yeah It was a cracker of a game... Had some Hume fans behind me and we were just shaking our heads in disbelief, it was end to end at some stages... crunching tackles, shots galore.... best both clubs have played against each other for ages.. I would rather play MacArthur at Lakeside to be honest... It would be boring to go to Bundoora and play Oakleigh AGAIN for the 5th time this year....

If the rumours are true and Sawyer is indeed heading off to Macarthur are they able to loan him back to us for the rest of the cup? I'm not to familiar with the ever changing rules of a-league signing loopholes.

I believe the Aleague transfer window closes on 16th of September but what shits me is that the NPL one is now closed until Jan so no chance of any top up striker getting ot the books before the Semi... I guess we wont get the benefit of the "Oakleigh special dispensation rule" from FV, its only for ..... ummmm... Oakleigh.

Some more 'professional' leagues let loan deals through a month or so after the transfer window closes. Yeah its a real shame we don't have a marriage connection or very good mate running the joint, how that shit flies ... crazy

Saw the end, nice one. Even my son got out of bed to have a little watch cause he could hear me streaming it.
How deep did south have players contracted? I was actually wondering if all contracted to still play

If its a AUS Cup semi final against Aleague opposition at Lakeside Im guessing most will put their hand up to play though, if nothing else its a chance to get scouted.

I feel like usually players sign on for just a season, with mid season signings only signing on for the rest of that season. However you do see some 2 year deals for some of the better / more established club players.

yep - you'd think everyone would be keen as to play this contracts or not. You wouldn't want to opt out besides your team mates would be livid, I would or am I talking crap. Sawyers is a different scenario, I expect SMH would be requesting the AL Club for allowance or some kind of agreement to allow him to play no ?

You would hope so, but I don't know if npl clubs get one, I don't know if Millar or Hore got us any coin when they went up. But in regards to leaving during a knockout tournament it happened last year with Riak, apparently he didn't tell anyone about the wc qualification game he was playing?

So its not like they are going to get any use out of him for the time being...

They're on the phone to Panathinaikos this evening , Ioannidis and PAO knocked back 24 mill Euro from Ipswich so Im sure South Melbourne Hellas could get him cheaper.... hahahahahaha what a peach of a goal the other day btw, check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUVrYWDrHrk

Harry does this EVERY season with us, he knocks it out of the park, gets the golden boot then disappears on a pro contract right before a final... HAHAHA God bless the kid, he is too good for NPL and just a level bellow pro... if the NST was up and running 2 years ago he would be a beast for us... Oh well, I wish him luck as always, he'll be back one day....

I would think Esteban plays a Bonada Brennan Mikkola rotating front three, quite fluid. I remember they had a good run together whilst Sawyer was out mid year. I hope Archibald gets the ok to play next cup game, looking back at the highlights we really missed Marshall and I think Archibald could do a job at centre back. Lucas Inglese and Peios starting next game I hope.

Even if its Oakleigh will lineup ultra defensive.

Edit I recon he might go with the five at the back and have the cb turning into a dm when going forward (thats if we go forward haha).

If Archibald plays he will round out the 3 DMs, Inglese likely to partner Jankovic. Dont expect us to touch the ball much until we go 1 down lol.

On a side note, Djiba has done well this season with some of the ex south boys at Dandy Thunder. He's been selected for the victorian all star team vs qld. Do we know what has happened to Elmazi? I saw he signed for Dandy Thunder but I don't know if he made an appearance, if he is a free agent could we Aki him into squad lol? He's got Sawyers size and can play cb, lb and is a serviceable defensive mid.

There may be a compensation fee paid upon the player signing a new professional contract if be is under the age of 23(?) But this fee will be distributed to the clubs the player represented from 12-23 on a % basis per season he was registered with the club. Fifa rules. If the player is 23 or over, and a free agent then no fee is required. He is considered a free agent.
