Perth’s first match of the season 

Perth have no Ikon, Wilson, Malik, Langkamp and Ota while Castro is an injury doubt. With all of those players missing Adelaide should win, even without Lopez, Strain and Al Hassan.

If this was at Hindmarsh I'd be quietly confident picking us to win by a goal but who knows in Perth.

I also know very little about Perth besides seeing a half hour in ACL.
Hopefully the fact this is our 3rd game and Perth's first gives us a slight upper hand as well

Can't see Perth winning this. First game of the season is usually rusty, missing players and up against Adelaide he aren't doing too bad.

Adelaide are great odds. Perth too many players out, looked terrible in the one pre season game I saw, and with Castro also out that is the icing on the cake. 1-2 Adelaide

I might be wrong but Jonny Yull on the bench is 15 I believe.

Rawlins and M Toure are 16 while Dukuly turned 18 the other day.

Not sure how old the other Perth youth players are.

Quite a new-look Perth - that midfield seems a little lightweight, but let's see!

Once I saw the midfield line up  I got worried

Our midfield looks way better than theirs on paper tbh.

I just think we can get away with any combo with two of those three in the midfield but not as the only 3. 

True but they have 2 blokes in midfield who have never started an AL game. We should not be getting dominated in the middle of the park.

So yeah he had to wait 5 years after he was 18 to be eligible for Aus which is a bit of a joke.

And frankly I don't see much in Caletti despite what some people said after the first game this season. I think he looks industrious and hard working but only coz he has to constantly stretch to get to things a normal player can just get to naturally. 

He fell short at Brisbane.

Rawlins looks very comfortable. Big talent. Timmins also looks excellent.

Honestly I'm not sure. Maybe with no Mauk and Lopez and with Troisi leaving, there's no experience or leadership in midfield which could be why or at least a factor.

I think Strain is definitely a loss but he will be back for the next game which is good and Javi Lopez will be back too.

Cheers, sorry for asking but what type of midfielder is young Yull, difficult to judge on little minutes but he looked tight in possession.

Honestly I have no idea, that was the first time I saw him play.

How many games did he play last season?

I think he needs to pass a bit more, seems to dwell on the ball to much for me.

9 sub appearances last season and scored one goal so he has 2 goals and an assist in 12 appearances in total.

And Halloran scores as well.

Other than that classy finish, he's had a shocker.

Quite an good couple of nights in terms of young talent, a 15 year old, 2 16 year olds, 2 18 year olds, a few 19 and 20 year olds.

Along the Olyroo contingent, quite something else for Aussie youth! 

AU missing Mauk in midfield. Also Strain. Marrone was leaving too much space for the Perth left sided players.

Pleasantly surprised by last nights game/performance. Keogh and Bruno up front together was interesting. All the youngsters played very well. How were Adelaide that bad after looking decent the first couple of games. Was good to be back after 310 days! Thought the crowd was slightly more than 6k. 

For various periods of the game Perth did look very good.
Some of the quick ball movement was above your average A-league team's for sure.

How much of that was down to us being very poor and sluggish is hard to say but I'd be happy with most of what I saw if i was a Perth fan

IMO Adelaide made them look good, the defending and amount of space afforded to Perth in the middle was ridiculous which is why I'm sceptical. But hey, with Castro, Ikonomidis, Ota, Langkamp, Wilson and Malik still to come into the matchday squad, based on that performance, top 2 may not be out of the question. Also convinced a mate to come to a game for the first time (mad AFL fan)....and after yesterdays game his keen to comeback for the next game! (Was the perfect game for a first time attendee!)
