+x+x+x+xEven though its a small sample size Melb Victory have been very poor in their first two games, out of all the team so far they have been worst in terms of performances. We were effectively gone after Gestede went off. we had no real avenue to goal. Although Kruse did provide something when he came on. It does feel like its gonna be a long season for us. We can't shrug off this injury curse. Let's face it - when your captain is Broxham, a player who at his peak was a bench player at best, then you know you have a poor squad. Genuinely no disrespect to Broxham, but that's a statement of fact about his past status. Obviously he's picked as captain for his personality and leadership skills, rather than footballing skills, not that this needs explaining. Come on, Pal, give me a break. This isn't a Mike Brearly situation, where a cricket team can afford to carry a substandard captain. Footballers don't play at elite level because of their personality and leadership skills. Maybe you're joking? My point remains - his presence is the measure of how far the quality of Victory's squad has fallen over the last 3 or so years.
