Baccus is a better player from the A League. Anyway, you'd have to play Jeggo or Irvine over him. No Degenek? No Leckie? No Watts? Watts is 18, out of his depth. Baccus is flat out holding his spot for Wanderers, goes missing. Not convinced on Degenek's physicality at this level, mainly against really good teams. Leckie is not the future. Kuwait, Jordan, Nepal and Taiwan are hardly ‘good’ teams. We've lost meaningful games to two of them in recent history.

+x+xJust noticed there's no mention of Bozanic in this thread. Deserves a recall. Stefan Mauk would surely be a Smokey as well, 6 goals in 10 games from midfield. And Asian referees never pick up on diving so...

+xI want to see the following included: Karacic, D Juric, Ruka, Robertson, Holland, Watts, Kalik, Piscopo Throw in Stennss and Jason Cummings too. I'd like to see a return to the Ange style selection policy of "building depth".

And played 30 minutes in Danish Cup game - played ok. AGF said he’s had ‘small injury’ which has kept him out of squad last few weeks? Next Cup game is 9 April so might show up then? Not holding breath though

I can't help but enjoy Duke, Goodwin and Nabbout doing well in the A League. The overseas players are indeed better but I wonder if we can somehow enjoy that good for in a gold shirt also. Then, that makes Ruka's claim incredibly strong. Devlin has been doing great for Wellington and Metcalfe and McGree need that proper exposure now.

Langerak, Ryan, Delianov, Glover Souttar, Degenek, Good, Tongyik, Karacic, Rushell, Behich, Elder, Grant
Mooy, Rogic, Sainsbury, Jeggo, Irvine, Holland, Luongo, Metcalfe, Watts, McGree Rukavytsa, Hrustic, Nabbout, Kuol, Yengi, Boyle, Mabil, Piscopo, Goodwin, Leckie, De Silva
It is difficult to pick a standout starting X1, Langerak and Ruka pick themselves based on form.. Behich, Souttar, Sainsbury, Degenek all playing regularly at a good level... Toss up between Boyle and Mabil.. Prefer Rushell over Grant but Karacic playing for Brescia and looks an interesting option. Goodwin playing well and natural left winger.. Luongo... hmm somewhat reminiscing to that Asian campaign under Ange. Maclaren? Not worth picking unless the national team is built around him. Irvine? playing well in the SPL but doesn't put away enough chances for my liking.
Langerak
Rushell. Degenek. Souttar. Behich Sainsbury. Mooy. Luongo Boyle. Goodwin Rukavytsa

Grant does an adequate job in what is a weak national position but we really need someone else to step up. maybe Karacic could make the position his own?
Must admit watching WSW isn't a priority for me but from what I have seen of the a league Tate does have a certain 'xfactor' about him..

Seems to be a lot of people calling for Karacic to be selected in first XI. This player was excluded from the final world cup squad for some reason. What was that issue/reason? Has that issue since been addressed?

Once again Goodwin, Nabbout and Duke having a good weekend.
These surprise results in Europe show we just can't be complacent. Get the win against Kuwait then we can nearly do however we please.

I know we're heavily restricted but everyone else has managed to get a friendly or two in. Why couldn't we get a UK based training camp and even allow any Aussie coach in Europe take it on behalf of Arnold?
Greece vs Honduras. Qatar vs Luxembourg and Azerbaijan. Northern Ireland vs USA. FA again totally asleep.

Has that issue since been addressed? Not sure their was an issue, he wasnt the best available player at the time. He is now playing at a much higher level than he was in 2018 and clearly has developed which is why everyone is calling for him to earn a cap.

Leave out Jmac, but bring in pups Kuol and Yengi? You've got to be kidding. The kids haven't even had a full season of a-league. You're getting sucked in to the hype. A fit and firing Maclaren will score 3+ in the bubble.

Thought there had been a suggestion of a communication issue, but it was never clear why Risdon was preferred.
