Ugi might be going earlier to join the Emperor of Paraguay, I mean Parramatta, according to the fox coverage of the Jets/WU match. Victory need to entice afew to join them to stem the tide, to say he least.

Tass would be great, but has Robbo lost his mind?! People might not remember that James Donachie is still a Jets player - looking to a future beyond Boogs and Topor?

If Tas is one of them, I'd take him and let Ugi go today. The Jets need CB's desperately moving forward. That is pretty much why they fall behind in every match and have to chase matches all the time. O'Doherty is a busy quality player as well. Jets have enough midfielders, if they can also secure Krasniqi, Prso and Abimanyu as well.

I’m gonna say it, For all of Prso’s ability, he really doesn’t effect the game enough, and I’d probably be happy if he was to go back to Croatia to refine his game and the position he wants to play. Because I’m confused.

Markovic might be in for either of Durante's end of season retirement or Vujika or even Skotadis perhaps?

Yes, when say 'let go' I mean 'let him get away'. Victory surely had the inside running to upgrade him to a senior position.

Joel Chianese is back at Perth. Given the league’s financial state is looking much more secure, I can see a lot of the players who went overseas at the end of last season returning.

Can't wait for the upcoming transfer whereby we are all screaming out for:
Daniel Arzani Mat Ryan Alex Gersbach Tom Rogic Mathew Leckie Ajdin Hrustic Jackson Irvine Brad Smith Brandon Borrello Mustafa Amini
... to make a transfer, only for them to sign up for another season as an unused sub.

Hardly call that semi regular. As for Ryan, I hope for his sake and Australia's sake he finds a club to be a regular at. He needs to be playing. He is on the brink of Socceroos captaincy however he is putting it in jeopardy right now. There'd be no shortage of clubs across Europe where he'd be first choice.

In addition to that, they extended Kerrin Stokes’ contract by two years. They also signed goalkeepers Ahmed Taleb and James Nieuwenhuizen on scholarship contracts for two and three years respectively as well as striker Max Caputo on a two year scholarship.

Apparently Red Star accepted a bid of 1.7million Euros for Degenek to join Lion City Sailors FC in Singapore but Degenek rejected a contract offer because he thinks the leagues quality is too low. Rumours he is back off to Abu Dhabi or China if they get an offer. I hear Singapore is pretty sick place to live but at 26 he is probably thinking about his next contract.

They tried to sign Delbridge, but yeh they are finding it hard to convince players to join them cause the SPL isnt that great

For what it's worth, Vidmar is departing the club, to go back to Bangkok Glass in Thailand. LCS are aiming to become a dominant force within Singapore, just like Johor DT in Malaysia, and United City [formerly known as Ceres Negros] in the Philippines. There'll always be players that want to sign for these clubs, as they can offer a ton of money, regardless of the standard of the league. Good on Degenek for rejecting them though, a move to Singapore would've certainly affected his chances of NT involvement.

Not really much of a loss tbh and given he’s left two clubs in two seasons in this manner, he could be a bad egg in the dressing room.

So Roar have signed Patrick Flottmann as an injury replacement from Sydney. He hardly played there so it’s hard to know how good he actually is.
I can understand why they’d bring someone in but if I were Trewin or JCP, I’d be pretty disappointed that Moon doesn’t feel confident enough in me to give me a chance when one of the starters is out injured.

I imagine we'd end up going with Neville, Gillesphey and Trewin starting, with either JCP or Flottmann on the bench. JCP may start on the left with Brown suspended, and then I suppose it'll be between Hingert and Brindell-South on the right.

There's been a few weird numbers over the years, my personal fav is Edgar Davids being appointed player-manager at Barnet and giving himself the #1 shirt.

So Brisbane have told Jamie Young he is a required player next season so he looks to be staying which explains the Kelava rumour. However Courtney-Perkins and Powell both want out due to a lack of game time and have attracted interest from overseas. https://www.foxsports.com.au/football/a-league/teams/brisbane-roar/aleague-roar-keeper-jamie-young-to-stay-in-brisbane-but-emerging-defender-jordan-courtneyperkins-wants-out/news-story/46c30880330b4201e228efd409445c10

+xWill piscopo still be under contract ? He's contracted for next season. Hope they lock him in for longer as they paid a transfer fee for him so wouldn't want to lose him on a free. If the rumors around Davilla are true, and I have no doubt that teams with more money than the Nix are chasing him, then it's an opportunity for Piscipo to cement himself as a starter next season rather than his current role of sometimes starting, sometimes off the bench.

If Davila comes in it will give the Bulls an upgrade on creativity, probably the best playmaker in the league at the moment.

+x+xFilipino-Australian Josh Grommen has signed for Khon Kaen United. What's with Thai clubs signing filos lol. Most of the Azkals sqaud play in Thailand. With the exception of a few. There's a rule where T1 clubs can sign 3 players from other ASEAN nations without them counting towards their foreign quota. In T2 they're allowed to sign 1, but very few clubs actually take up this option. It was a rule brought in to try to help other nations in the region develop their players in a stronger league, but all it's brought in instead is widespread corruption getting these players signed. FWIW, I think it's a poor signing for Khonkaen United. Grommen has been relegated with 2 clubs in the last year to 18 months [Brisbane City in NPL QLD and Sukhothai in Thai League 1] so that is scary in itself. Not saying he's at fault, just saying he's arriving from losing clubs, which can fester in a players mindset. As a newly promoted club, they need strong characters that will drag them through tough times, so it's just a signing that doesn't make much sense to me. Good luck to him though, it'll be interesting to see how they handle the jump to T1.

Anthony Carter apparently close to signing for a Thai league 1 side... Lots of first team action will benefit him, but it’s a bit underwhelming if it happens. He’s also 26, so definitely moving out of the ‘prospects’ category. I was definitely hoping that he might get picked up by a lower Portuguese div 1 team because of his scoring this season and previous stint with Benfica B. I guess we will wait and see what develops.

He might be at the stage where he's tired of grafting and just wants to get paid finally. He'll earn a very good living at Bangkok United, who typically play a very good brand of football, and have challenged for silverware in the past. They had a bad season last time out, so I'm guessing they're doing what they can to bounce back and push the top-2 again.

Oil Sail is staying at Wellington for another two years.
I wonder where Marinovic will end up then as he’s too good to warm the bench. Another A-League club (WU or WSW perhaps?) or maybe overseas somewhere.

Shane Lowry has signed for JDT which would mean Abimanyu won’t be promoted to their first team.
Chris Herd has also been let go by Terengganu

Johor has just allowed Hariss Harun to return to Singapore in the last week or so, and I'm intrigued to see which of their other foreign players departs in order for Lowry to be registered. Regarding Herd, word is that Terengganu just got sick of the constant injuries and want someone more reliable in their availability.

That sounded illiterate, I should have re read that lol. What I meant to say was the article looks like the agent knows someone at TWG and pushed that story through.

Wellington beat off Coventry among other European teams to keep Waine, signing him for three years.
NZ Press are saying that Davila to Bulls is confirmed, although Davila is talking about this season only (which is as much of a acknowledgement as anything else).
Nix have a press conference organised today, rumor is it's to announce an extension for Talay.

He dominated the NPL SA last season with 14 goals in 18 games at Croydon who were coached by Ange (his father) but since he's returned to AU, he's stuck behind the likes of Halloran, Goodwin, Kitto, Niyongabire and Dukuly in the pecking order.

According to SBS, Max Burgess has signed a two year deal with Sydney.
I’d imagine he’d be a much cheaper and a local replacement for Baumjohann.

I seriously hope WU haven't had to pay the blokes wages for him to sit at home this whole time. Players that try to walk out on their contracts [without cause] should be banned by the FA for a set period, or at least until their contract with the club they're trying to walk on expires - that way the club can say "good, piss off" and not have to pay him. Pathetic behaviour from the player and his agent, I'm tired of seeing homesickness used as an excuse for a player being released by a club. Highlights the need for a monetary transfer system in the country, but we've been saying that for god knows how long!

I can't imagine anything young player sitting out a whole season without compelling reasons.

Maybe the player has just been learning tricks from his coach.

Interesting place to sign, considering the troubles going on there atm. Hopefully WP got a fee for him, but I'm guessing he was near the end of his contract. Considering his first season at the club, I'm surprised by how far he fell this season, and I guess Oli Sail has done enough to show UT that he's #1 for the long-term.

TWG running a story that baccus is set to go to Hungary with ferencvaros for a six figure fee. If he can play there it’s a good deal and good to see wanderers getting a fee for him.

That would be a decent intro to European football. Interesting mix of Brazilians who've ended up becoming nationalised too.

Davila is probably pound for pound the best CAM in the league and DDS isn’t a million miles away. Makes them very good going forward. It means the Mariners can promote from within
