https://www.a-league.com.au/news/da...S-DTNroZegtlud3aR0L-mTLUlh9-X2KjkWCaYbRjSy35oFootball Australia today confirmed the date for the FFA Cup 2021 Round of 32 Live Draw. The FFA Cup Round of 32 Live Draw will be conducted on Thursday, 8 July 2021 from 7:30pm AEST and will be streamed live via the official FFA Cup Facebook and My Football YouTube accounts. The draw process and principles for FFA Cup have been revamped in 2021, with clubs being placed into four (4) zones for the Round of 32 – East (12 clubs), North (6 clubs), South (8 clubs) and West (6 clubs). From the Round of 16 onwards the draw will be completely open, adding more unpredictability and excitement to the competition. The new draw process and principles are one of a number of enhancements to the 2021 edition of the FFA Cup. Other enhancements will see the Winner awarded one of Australia’s preliminary round slots in the AFC Champions League (subject to meeting AFC Club Licensing requirements), as well as the introduction of Play-offs between the bottom four A-League clubs for the remaining two spots in the Round of 32. These Play-off matches are scheduled for the weekend of 7-8 August and will see Western United FC and Perth Glory FC play host to Newcastle Jets FC and Melbourne Victory FC, respectively. In 2021 the Round of 32 is made up of 10 A-League clubs, the 2019 National Premier Leagues Champion (Wollongong Wolves from New South Wales), as well as 21 Member Federation clubs from the 731 that have entered from across Australia in the Preliminary Rounds. In total, the FFA Cup 2021 will feature 744 clubs nationally. FFA Cup 2021 Round of 32 Live DrawDate: Thursday, 8 July 2021 Time: 7:30pm AEST How to watch: LIVE on FFA Cup Facebook & My Football YouTubeHow to follow: Follow FFA Cup on Facebook, Twitter and InstagramHow to interact: #FFACup #MagicOfTheCup

Good, so no artificial draw of A League clubs against each other. Brisbane Roar will have an away game first up against a QNPL opponent. Pleased there is an open draw for the Quarter Finals. Probably a sensible place to start. Hauling 16 clubs across the country for the Round of 32 is probably a bridge too far. Keeping that to a State based draw is also sensible. I think its a nice balance of openness given our logistical issues.

Ha ! Played for Edge Hill Utd back in the day. Go Edge Hill. (also Lions FC but only in 35's.) Cooma Tigers? How? Anyone familiar with how they have such a strong team from such a little town?

+xwhy are Wellington Phoenix in at the expense of one of the Aussie A-League clubs? This is the FA Cup of Australia after all...... Because they are under the FFA, and performed better than the other A-League teams.

+xIf Nux win it can they play in the ACL... no....because they are not affiliated to the AFC but to Oceana..... all the more reason they shouldn't be in the FFA Cup.

Nix should be in the ACL, about the only club besides Adelaide that would take it serious.

Crap thing with the draw is , depending on the Aleague qualifying games VICNPL teams would be denied the chance to face MV even if they win their match... missing out on a huge pay day, at least more than they would attract against Wellington or WU... Same thing for someone like Newcastle Olympic, who would love to draw the Jets in the next round .... oh well they are trying I suppose.

At the same time I would want to be in roar's shoes they have it so easy I would have had the following: 1- no playoffs 2- 4 zones, 16 teams each: North (NT/NNSW/QLD), East(NSW/ACT), South (VIC/TAS) West(WA/SA) 3- no Wellington (unless FIFA/OFC/FNZ ponnies up developmental funds for an Oceania Zone - so no chance in hell)

Personally for the reasons you mention I would be OK with odd numbers in some zones with the 2 or 4 left over teams that may result being drawn to play a cross zone Round of 32 match.

So is it still called the "FFA Cup", even after the "Football Federation of Australia" ("FFA") switched to "Football Australia" ("FA")?? Side Note: I actually preferred "Football Federation of Australia" (FFA) for what's it worth.

Side Note: I actually preferred "Football Federation of Australia" (FFA) for what's it worth. I imagine it'll be changed to the "Australia Cup" or similar to avoid confusion with the English FA Cup. I also preferred FFA, such a needless rebranding.

Caught the second half plus ET and penalties. Was a good game, South definitely deserving of going through. Who you hoping to draw in the round of 32 Mono?

Aleague club hopefully mate, always wanna mix it with the big boys... WU would be comedy gold just for the scenes if we win :).... I think Melbourne City would be a bridge too far but Victory (if they manage to beat Newcastle) are a tasty tasty potential fixture...

Victory need to beat Perth, Newcastle are playing WU to get in so I'm hoping WU don't even make it to the big dance. South vs Victory at Lakeside would be awesome.
