If he doesn't get an extension (I hope he does personally) I could see him being poached.

Wouldn’t it be fun if Stevie Gerrard got the Villa gig and to be succeeded by Kevin Muscat.

Well I mean Gerrard has achieved a lot less but gets touted like crazy. Xavi to Barcelona is very open thing. Lampard got fast tracked and we saw how that went. Ange on the other hand has a very strong track record so such ideas are perfectly plausible.

wait a bit I reckon, the Newcastle job might still be open in the summer. Imagine what Ange could do with basically unlimited cash lol

He should at least finish off the season with Celtic. No rush at this stage - his reputation in the UK will only grow. I think he has a real chance at the League title this season which would do his reputation a world of good.

Id be disappointed if he didn't see out two seasons with Celtic as he tends to do his best work in year 2 (I'm aware that he currently has a one year contract, but imagine it'll be renewed later this season if things are still going reasonably well).

+xToo soon has yet to prove himself over a whole season He's proven himself over whole seasons several times before. But it would be a stupid move for him. Villa would drop him like a sack of shit if he didn't get immediate results, which he is not want to do.

It feels like Steven Gerrard is running away from a fight in the SPL. I would have love to see Ange beat Gerrard to the league title this year.

By all means he still needs maturing as a coach but he's got the runs on the board in the SPL since 2018, he's no runner mind you a slip once or twice :) Rangers we're a dogs brekky, this offer is bad timing for me (I'd sooner he stay and beat Ange :)) be it in his shoes or anyone else would obviously consider going to the best league in the world. Stay there Stevie. This is just 1hr old :( https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/nov/10/aston-villa-confident-of-appointing-rangers-steven-gerrard-as-new-manager

I'm not saying he is a bad manager but he isn't Ange Postecoglou. From what I've seen this season of Celtic and Rangers, Ange is a better coach and I'm confident Celtic will win the SPL whether Stevie G is at Rangers or not. I personally want Stevie G so Ange can beat him to the league title.

As you have mentioned elsewhere if your offered a better gig you take it and why not if ticks the boxs , bigger/better opportunity when offered. Can't help timing. I would have loved SG getting the double by the way but now my interest has dropped x 70%, 30% of me will be happy for Ange.

Ange linked by some bloke on a football forum and a passing comment by a online highlights host. Jeepers.
Gerrard is hardly running away in my opinion. He's had an offer for the biggest league in the world, if he was in 2/3rd place and went to coach in the Slovakian league then maybe.
TBF I thought he out coached Ange in that first game. He set up well and stifled ange's tactics.

The auditors are not convinced the club will be able to continue as a going concern in the foreseeable future. The club clearly has debt. Take away the intangible assets (which may or may not have a realisable value) there is a 7.5 million pound deficiency of equity. That is worrying. It is vital that the club survives for the good of the SPL. Things will right themselves if you win the league this year.

I might be completely off the mark here but it makes me think of Leeds when they first went bankrupt. If Rangers win the league they get the automatic Champions League place next year and so will have the money to survive. It looks like they're overspending in the hope of guaranteeing that Champions League spot. It might work for a year or 2, but Leeds showed us that it doesn't work forever. Hell, even Barcelona is showing us that.

Funny how all you lot are qualified accountants, but know nothing of criminal law. LOL. There is 29 million pounds of debt over and above the investor loans. Can you please tell me who we owe 29 million to ? Or are you just listening to Rugger guy ? Read the balance sheet. The amount is clearly stated. Trade and other payables ($27 million current and $2 million non current). Who is Rugger guy? If you know, then you know. Every jungle Jim knows who Rugger guy is. Ask ill Phil if you don’t. Just as you fail to see the significant debt that your 9 year old club has you failed to understand my comment "Who is Rugger guy?" Ok plastic man. 9 year old club that you and your inbreds spent talking about in the AGM yesterday, 9 year old club your arse.

Long way to go, 13 of 33 played. I highly doubt his rep would have been effected one bit IF he lost the title, much like most other gaffas at the pointy end. Doesn't effect the countless others in good leagues finishing in CL places etc....... Enjoy in any case.

there's no shortage of premier league jobs. up to half the clubs look for new managers every year. ange can get some runs on the board with celtic and then go - and go somewhere looking for a long term project

At one stage Postecoglou was being criticized when he rested key players in the league ahead of Europe. What I found strange is how the Celtic fans seem to be so committed that winning the league should be the top priority, by a long way over European competition.
How many times can you win a two horse race and still think its an achievement?

How many times can you win a two horse race and still think its an achievement? Reminds me of the Queensland State of Origin League of the '90's. They would thump NSW, and then a majority would be selected in the Australian team. After losing the first game of an international series, the selectors would revert to majority NSW Australian team which would clean up the series easily.
