This guy is taking the piss out of the A league. its possible we will never see him again. My guess is he will sign with in China or the oil leagues by January. 

Surely as a professional footballer he’s fit enough to at least be a sub. 

Yep, had a feeling this was a novelty publicity signing with no substance orchestrated by the crypto-guru Tony Sage. Sturridge will completely take the piss and add zero to Perth’s ability to win game unfortunately.

Did Studge end up playing on Saturday?

Nope. Was watching from the stands. 
Not sure why people are surprised though. The guy has had no pre-season with the club and hasn't kicked a competitive ball in 2 years.
It's a similar story with Spiranovic at MV. Hasn't played in a similar amount of time and is taking a while to be ready for competition.

This sums up perfectly why AL has lost its appeal, 2 over the hill has-beens who havent kicked a ball in anger in 2 years getting spots ahead of the next gen (ie youngsters).

Gimmicks and nostalgia quickly loose their gloss and AL should rename itself the A-F-EL (Australian Football Entertainment League) Football but not as you know it

Is there a timeframe?  Another 3 or 4 weeks perhaps? 

 Maybe next promotion video could be Studge water skiing in a leather jacket and jumping over a shark? That will certainly bring attention to "the product"

Wait till the "Everybody loves Raymond" round later this year.  C10 wanted it to be "Neighbours" round but not even the TV writers could come up with a story line tie in plausible enough to convince viewers that everyday suburban Anglos would watch, let alone have heard about the Aleague. 

I think you need to move a bit more forward than Happy Days and Raymond. When you see Rhyan Grant competing in Australian Survivor, with enforced regrown mullet, you'll know they're serious.

He's not playing  against City either, the novelty has worn off ages ago.
