+x+xN'Golo Kante is reportedly set to miss three months of football after suffering a hamstring injury in training. Out for WC Sorry for the player but good news for the Socceroos-Kante is such a midfield dynamo and ball winner. Despite that I wouldn’t wish an injury on any player before a WCup, Kante tore up nearly every attack by Roos in Russia so can only benefit Australia with him out

Pogba ruled out of WC. Probably a blessing for France anyway. It'll be interesting to see how this younger brigade go as a team. They could be absolutely lethal or get bitten.

I think the French NT team will do ok despite those 2 known injuries. They got depth easily as long as they click. https://www.givemesport.com/88078128-world-cup-2022-frances-squad-depth-is-scary-even-without-kante-or-pogbaWhat rich's - 3 walk in players each position.

Pogba is the very definition of a player that lazily squandered his talent. Plays when he feels like it and not a team man in my opinion so they won't miss him that much.
Kante is very decent however as indicated the French have sooooooo much depth in all of their positions.
However it's going to be Socceroos 4 France 0.
:hehe:

Well we know who we've got now
Ryan Wright Degenek Rowles Karacic Devlin Behich Mooy Boyle Cummings Goodwin
I'd save Souttar for Tunisia. Unlikely we'll have a back 3 so:
Ryan Karacic Wright Rowles Behich Devlin Mooy Irvine Boyle Cummings Mabil
This above formation with something a bit wilder
Ryan Karacic Wright Rowles Behich Devlin Baccus Hrustic Boyle Cummings McGree

Tchouameni(22) and Camavinga(19) are still very young and there's alot of expectations set on this french team. If we ever going to get a result against them this is our chance as we know they start slowly.

The Blues pretty much as expected, strong despite the known injuries and one of the favs but the whole Qatar playing experience may take them some time to settle in same applies to the Danes fingers crossed. I think they will rest up Benzema maybe, a slight muscle tear that the Madrista are pissed he's ruling himself out of their last game having lost their last 3. No matter that, a few good balls behind our backs and Mbappe will be there running onto to them :( Greizman will either clean up the chances saved or Giroud. It just looks damn ugly BUT go our Roos put it in thats all we can ask.

That forward line with Benzema,Mbappe ,Griezmann Giroud and O Dembele looks scary so our defenders and mids will have their work cut out

I doubt we'll go a back 3. Wingbacks give France the chance to get past them and then we'll have an extra there. Back 4 means the fullbacks will be deeper but they do push up regularly. I wonder if we'll see that interesting inner positioning by Behich again. It covered a fair bit of area that kept Peru locked up for periods. I'll be very surprised if it isn't this:
Ryan Karacic Wright Rowles Behich Devlin Mooy Irvine Leckie Boyle Goodwin
I'd rather
Ryan Deng Souttar Rowles Karacic Irvine Devlin Behich McGree Boyle Cummings
I'd rather try this and find out the hard way than not. Mooy's passing is fine but I think a bit more tank in Irvine would be better for the start. If we can hold on, having a fresh Mooy, Kuol and even Leckie could work wonders near the end. I'D even go for broke and start Baccus over Irvine with the pure instruction to wreak havoc on their centre mid and disrupt as much as possible. He's got the fitness and speed.

Holy Shit, it’s literally next week. I don’t know why, but I haven’t been following the lead-up to this much, but I can’t believe a World Cup kicks off in a week.
Maybe I’m not amped for this because it’s Qatar and our team doesn’t look good, but It’s certainly snuck up on me.

Boyle in camp already but missed first training session. Early days obviously but still not a great sign. Squad needs his energy up front 🤞

Tricky calls to make. Back 3 or 4? Deng had the skill, Wright the experience but I think Degenek maybe has that bit more big league experience.
Part of me thinks up front we should have a two of Duke and Leckie to have them press and disrupt to hell and if we can hang around until 60min then allow those better subs. Starting with the better players may see a rare goal chance converted. With VAR we need to shoot into the box like crazy as plenty of handballs occur.

Benzema has pulled up with pain in training today and had to end early. Reports fear he could miss the entire tournament now. This is more an escalation than exaggeration by many reports.
In our camp, Boyle and Hrustic are training individually. If they can forgo the first game ok but if they're listed past replacement deadline and don't feature at all it's two spots wasted. We're actually a bit thin in CM.
Reports are postive about Souttar.
