From Thursday, July 20 until Sunday, August 20, 15 key matches – including the opening match, quarterfinals, semi-finals and the final – will be broadcast live and free on Seven and 7plus, with Seven’s matches also available to stream on-demand via 7plus. A daily highlights program will also be broadcast on the screens of Seven throughout the competition period, following an extensive lead-up program. The rights have been sub-licensed by Optus, with Seven and Optus Sport developing a range of innovative plans to ensure Australians have the best possible coverage of the entire 64-game tournament

+xNobody screws soccer like seven, right? And Optus too for that matter. Optus screwed the last world cup but it was hardly intentional. And Sevens awful treatment of the game was decades ago. They have clearly bid for the world cup here as they know it'll be a ratings success. This is a good thing and I encourage anybody to explain how it isn't

That's terrible. I'm pretty sure they aren't able to cross promote on the coverage so we shouldn't have to hear about the AFL at least.

This is a good thing and I encourage anybody to explain how it isn't Optus technical glitchs was bad timing but they at least corrected it And compensated all those who stayed with them as I have and to this day. I have no issue paying more and even a Fox subscriber still, people whinge not affording it more than anything else. Rapted OS has the rights for watching EPL is still a joy and they have the best coverage/intel and play backs so easy plus the other comps..... FTA is important for many - 7 is better than nothing I guess not that I'll use FTA much but I'll giggle hearing if anything gayfl is dripped through with dippa commentating lol but the big one is as mentioned, the big aplm investor not making sure getting the co rights to broadcast here. They obviously didn't want to up 7's bid lol..... That boardroom at silverlake must be full of bent over executives with vaso in front of their nose's haha

Cut to some bogan sheila from swimming or AFLW commentating by screeching like a banshee at 'our girl's going for gold' before throwing to Kochie to make injokes about the funny names of the fuzzy little foreigners

Shit, I didn’t know Optus were involved. Am I going to have to cough up $25 for the month? Who from the channel 7 will be hosting and doing commentary? The only person that comes to mind is Mel Mclaughlin. Did channel 10 put in a bid at all?

Well , it will certainly be interesting to see how many Sherrins we see getting kicked and cross- promotion of the AFLW , and how many "we' ll take you back to the 'live' sockah after this important message from world renowned AFL Superstar Buddy Franklin and re- runs of My Kitchen Rules " there are ...

+xPeople know where C7' s bread is buttered ... Are you implying that C7 promotes a rival football code and therefore they try and sabotage the "wogball" again, just like uncle Frank's two last CEO's..... ??? Your good ol personality is starting to peek through your carefully constructed space bar poundings Paulie ..... The "Remote Conrol" persona is the "monotone, Lowy loving robot from the future" remember? I miss the old xenophobic Croatian calendar hating one btw... bring him/her back please.

It' s more a question of why couldn' t the FA persuade its own broadcast / "commercial " partner to outbid Seven for the rights ?
Or has C10 already given up on the Soccer , and looking to cut its losses ?

It would seem to me that in the circumstances it would have been appropriate for the old FFA to have continued the planning for the WWC bid.
But much very much unlikely that they would have been involved in any major decision making on the expansion licences, given they were in "caretaker mode" .

Thank Christ they didnt, we would have ended up with another cartoon kangaroo commercial, an embarrassing attempt at bribery and watching the World cup on Channel 7 next year (being played in another country) .... Well done to the all new (with a handful of parasitic old hangers on) FA

I believe that planning for the WWC bid would have already been well progressed by the time the new FFA took over , as completed bid registrations were originally due for submission in early 2019 .
Well done old FFA .

Hmm so caretaker mode for expansion, but still "at the helm" for the WC bid? Haahahaha you goose, The OLD FFA is exactly the same as the new FA --- same old dildos. +x+x+xI believe that planning for the WWC bid would have already been well progressed by the time the new FFA took over , as completed bid registrations were originally due for submission in early 2019 . Well done old FFA . The OLD FFA is exactly the same as the new FA If that' s the case , why did they even bother ... Same reason why you would take the rubbish out to the council bins even if the kitchen bin is still half full.. Something really smelly about that last bit of trash.

Well done old FFA . so caretaker mode for expansion, but still "at the helm" for the WC bid? I' ve previously explained . Have you confused dates / timeframes ? The new FFA took over in later 2018, by which time much of the WWC planning work would have needed to have been substantially progressed .

Ill check the dates again.

At least they can't cross promote the AFLW. But watch the Sherrins interfere
