Mind you, there were duds in the past. Slater always had a barrow to push and never said anything remotely smacking of insight. Bozza did occasionally provide some insight about the game but doesn't have a clue about the laws. When he used to speak so sententiously and insultingly about particular decisions/events - and was just dead wrong - I wanted to throw a brick at my telly. (My wife has locked all the bricks away, fortunately.)

How hard can it be to get commentators who understand the game, can call it accurately, provide a little bit of insight into what is going on, and have a bit of a laugh at the same time?

There must be any number of youngsters who live and breathe football, have a media qualification and a little bit of personality. There are too many ex-footballers with no insight and no personality just phoning it in and I'm bored to tears with it.

I don’t think it’s the games fault city play attacking football and Wellington have some exciting players just need them to show some excitement
