No, but the league rules & regulations probably are. I wouldn't be surprised if this loophole is plugged for next season. In a salary capped league, clubs are always going to try to take advantage of loopholes that exist.

Personally as a MV fan, I'd much rather see us sign a defender as an injury for a defender, but I'm not going to complain too much if he picks up some goals/assists.
It's definitely going to make the Dec 17 derby a bit more interesting.

Love Fornaroli but don't understand how this can be right as he was already contracted after the end of the transfer window. It shouldn't matter that he's signed as an injury replacement - am I missing something? (As a Jets fan I'd rather he was absent tomorrow)
