I go through an Apple device, but otherwise, I'm a full fee subscriber.
I'm most annoyed that I kept paying right through the off-season.

So I just went on now to  watch City v Glory, but I"m still getting CBS news from America!
I know a few of us here are affected, but no one on The Roar appeared to be affected, and I haven't seen anything on twitter.

I have watched it five times and cannot see a handball from Ikonomidis. Not sure how people can flat out day hand ball. I reckon goal should stand. I reckon he deliberately did it to try and even up.

Happy with the result, but pre-VAR I can't see either of those pens given. On the second one I don't even think the MV players were appealing for a pen, it looked like they wanted a corner. If neither of those pens were given I don't even think we'd be talking about it now. It would not have been controversial at all to not give those penalties. The Jets defenders were poor but this is the type of stuff that results in fans walking away. It really does ruin the experience.

Based on EPL's guidance they probably wouldn't have awarded Nani/Neymar the flog his penalty. Nani is fast becoming my most hated player in the A League.

SOFT FREE KICKS AND PENALTIES

The Premier League saw a record 125 penalties awarded last season, a 37.5% season-on-season increase, with many soft spot kicks coming after an attacker seemed to be barely touched. But this wasn't just a problem in England, with the number of penalties doubling in Ligue 1 and rising by 50% in the Bundesliga.

Referees were widely praised at Euro 2020, due to the way they allowed the game to flow and ignore minimal contact between players. Now the Premier League wants its referees to officiate games in the same way.

"Fundamentally we want the approach to be one that best allows the players to go out and express themselves, allows the Premier League games to flow and means the refereeing team, both as referee and as VAR, don't intervene for the trivial offences," Riley said. "Let's create a free-flowing game, where the threshold is slightly higher than it was last season."

This will be especially noticeable on penalties, with Riley saying "contact on its own is only part of what the referee should look for; consider consequence and the motivation of the player as well."

What does this mean? The principles established are:

- The referee should look for contact and establish clear contact
- Ask if that contact by the defender has a consequence
- Has the attacker used that contact to try and win a foul or penalty?
- Contact alone is not sufficient

This means that if an attacker goes to ground, the manner in which he goes to ground has to match the contact from the defender. So an attacker throwing himself to the ground because of minimal contact should no longer be a penalty.  

Seen a lot of talk on facebook and a lot of likes for comments saying the ref got it wrong but the problem was the defender did kick him.

I think last year PGMOL in England released some guidance around not all contact in the box necessarily means a foul.

I wish they had that here.

What's worse he could have continued he's run, bad call from the ref and VAR.

How good was that pass by Brimmer? if that was from De Bruyne it would go off on social media, he's a bit unlucky but a bit too soon for Brimmer to make a play for this World Cup squad plus too many midfield options as well.
Also the he broke away from he's marker with his first touch was fantastic too.

The Jets look to be a poor team away from home, they have to improve their away form if they want to be in the top 6 because they capable on their day especially when they are at home.

Wow, that was absolutely rubbish. How does VAR not turn around the first pen? Totally changed the game. We were terrible, but gutless refereeing doesn't help. As bad as we were, that scoreline totally flattered Victory. Brimmer aside, the front third looks weak. D'Agostino is a one-trick pony (nice trick, though) and Ikon can battle it out with Piscopo for most overrated Serie A youth product. Nani... well, watch out for that blade of grass.

Silver lining? Sozzled Jets fan going spare at Papas and the lads in the away supporters zone after wards. Should make for a spicy AAA. Grab the popcorn.

Part of me just thinks, stuff it. Start Brimmer at 10 vs France. Have Dougall and Devlin stalk Mbappe all day. Mooy in the middle of that for transition and Cummings up top before bringing on Kuol and the fit Leckie and Irvine (if at all) against an opposition that is tired after 70min.

What the hell was the defender (25) doing for that goal. Watched it sail over his head and then as an afterthought decided to maybe do something about it 

Nani playing well.

Garbage VAR work again. Last week - D'Agostino gets a red. VAR intervenes, says it is a high foot into the keepers chest so straight red.

Then Nani takes an absurd dive that was as clear as day, no review.

Some teams get the calls, just seems to be the same teams all the time

Definite handball so correct decision.

Nani looked like he was going to cross the ball and then took the tumble.McGarry did contact him with his left foot so he was able to milk it.

A good game to watch as both sides attacking at every opportunity though Victory look more dangerous.
