Looks like there was a bit of anti social behavior by the Anglo's after the Sydney Derby. Looking forward to ALM and FA handing out the punishments like they do for the effnik's....... Moore Park's memorial footbridge has been damaged after fighting fans spilled from the stands into the streets around Allianz Stadium. Police were forced to break up the angry crowds who turned on each other after the Sydney Derby. @SophieUpcroft #9News https://twitter.com/9newssyd/status/1591691521329623040?s=46&t=LpwKuY99bD9gt04XJCobUA
Police issue warning to Western Sydney Wanderers over arrests during clash with Sydney FC
Police will officially warn Western Sydney Wanderers supporters over their behaviour following arrests and violence during Saturday's derby against Sydney FC.Three Wanderers fans were arrested for throwing flares, while police are still reviewing CCTV footage from Allianz Stadium to identify and arrest more perpetrators this week. Wanderers fans were also involved in fights near Central Station as they arrived by train from the west, and some fans caused disturbances to traffic in Moore Park by blocking roads. https://www.foxsports.com.au/football/police-issue-warning-to-western-sydney-wanderers-over-arrests-during-clash-with-sydney-fcpolice-issue-warning-to-wanderers-over-flares-arrests-during-derby-clash-with-sydney-fc/news-story/979b6a3d15c407f91925c0977632be38

Individuals involved deserve to be banned and the club held responsible for any fan behaviour that is covered in the FA's regulations. My view is and always will be that fans don't have the right to disgrace the club's shirt by their actions so not only should the police and FA act on what happened but the club should also withdraw membership from members who are found to have acted improperly by the police and FA.

I thought the atmosphere looked really good on tv, a bit try-hard but actually pretty loud.....Great crowd too from all reports.... I wouldn't have thought that there was that much violence, the MSM tends to treat the new dawn fans like they treat they used to treat old soccer fans, just minus the racial slurs. Also, I read that Sydney City fans actually burnt one of their own team jerseys, is that true? Fark me, that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard....

Hang on a second, I thought the mainstream media only care about poor fan behaviour when it's an ethnic club? But here we have C9 essentially writing a hit piece tarnishing the whole game. Don't seem to be going easy on Sydney or Wanderers do they?

Burn pictures of Judas players sure, even an old t-shirt with the number/name on the back OK, but NEVER an actual club emblem and jersey.... thats too much.... You dont even do that to your bitterest rivals overseas (sure burn their flags and banners and scarves) but NOT a jersey with the club badge..... thats like the worse thing I can think of.

Very poor to have this as the main article on a classic Sydney Derby with the passions of both sets of fans lighting up the game before the match and the first half. The back and forth chanting creating a spectacle. And from what i understand, Sydney FC funded the trade-in of Ninkovic jerseys for lollies as well as the TIFO.
Then on the pitch, Sydney FC much vaunted attack unable to get through on goal through Cleur, Mrcela, Marcelo, Traore and Thomas. Marcelo also owned Wood who showed his frustration. How many shots on goal did Sydney FC have all game from the front 4 of Mak, Lolley, Caceres and Wood. Then there was Nieuwenhof and Amalfitano controlling the midfield and Nieuwenhof did it with an early yellow card. Then there was Yengi who put in his best shift this season and showing why Grant is not in the World Cup squad.
Plus Ninkovic was double or triple teamed all game yet was able to get through on goal, which brought the Cove back to life in the second half with the pass by Krpic to put him through. And the goal and reaction were absolutely classic.
After rhe game, the press conference by Rudan was absolutely inflammatory.
I watched a few of YouTube clips by Sydney FC supporters and to those from other cities might explain the rivalry. One of the chants goes "F**k off Western Sydney Scum..."
The Channel 9 media group has a vested interest in killing football. They have not said this publicly like the AFL but after multi-million dollar TV deal for the NRL, they see the numbers of kids playing football (soccer to thugby league and AFL) across the country so are trying desperately to disparage our sport.
