+xI’m excited for mariners to come here get to see kuol live I’m still watching AL because the standard of play is at all time high imho. Kuol can pass a ball as good as Mbappe or Messi. And he is locked in to playing for Roos forever now! Can’t wait to see him succeed in Europe 🤞🤞🤞

I think the situation is shit, and maybe the worst thing to happen in the ALeague, but anyone saying this is the worst thing that has happened to football in this country probably doesn't know the history of football in this country

The more things change the more they stay the same. About the 2 minute mark. https://youtu.be/1_RPfOiKINE

Also curious to know which player Johnny was referring to right at the end when he mentions they dropped injured at the 39th minute of a game?

Forget going back 17yrs + its the now and ahead, how will sponsers and future ones think, supporters on the fence sure won't be rushing back. Other supporters have said thats it checked out and we're yet to see what price is to pay for the Clubs/Owners - its only just begun. MCG I'll keep watching at this stage but its a whole different light atm.

Been a Brisbane member since first couple of seasons. After receiving an email back from Chris Fong saying he was blindsided by the decision to then go and agree to the decision is the last hit I am going to take. I've supported alot of bullshit from Bakries owning the club but we've still bought memberships even when unable to attend half the games for the season. The Bakries had plenty of opportunity to sell at a decent price but for whatever reason have persisted with clutching onto the club with minimal to no investment or care for the fans. Also able to cancel Paramount now as not going to support Townsend or "APL". If the Grand Final decision is reversed, I will come back to games.
I've always followed Celtic through my Grandad but put my local club first but for now it's back to Celtic only.

If anything it's made me want to go to the game more to show the rest of the league doesn't need to be punished for Melbourne bum bag carrying meth dealers, bikies and bogans.

I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. I hope for all your sake's your league doesnt fold over this and your clubs are banished to the part time NPL ... Its pretty disheartening seeing people jump ship from the "club I love".

ill always support the local game in 'whatever' form it is in because i enjoy the sport Why would 'a few poorly' behaved fans stop me? I maintain my position the league needs a complete overhaul the structure is unsustainable

> Is anyone here gonna stop following the a league? Not me. Although as a Perth Glory supporter I know our chances of making the finals aren't great, and if we don't make it, I'm going to be hoping that no NSW based teams make the GF. I've always said I love finals and that we should embrace them as a great and unique part of Aussie sporting culture. Deciding the champion with one match on the last game of the season is fantastic, and so much more exciting than a team wrapping the title up with 3 weeks to go. That said; after the APL's decision nothing would make me happier than seeing a record low crowd at a GF in Sydney between two non-Sydney teams. Alternatively, had the APL made the decision that the FFA cup final was to be held in Sydney, I would have had no problem with it.

We could get rid of the Grand Final and make first past the post the Champion with positions on the ladder determining prize money and seeding into the end of season knock out ALM Cup. Market the Cup as a separate competition with states bidding to hold the final for 3 years and have the sponsorship going in to separate prize money and competition costs. PS. There is no club in my state to follow live but I will still keep watching on TV. What would make me walk away is if active supporters start/keep acting as if everything in football is accountable to them. They can add to the game day experience but they are only a small part of the fans of each club and their views are not those of all/most fans.

Stop going to watch matches or stop following your club because of a schedule change is sissy. If this is the worst thing that can happen, bring it on. Toughen up......

I have been going to games since the early 90s when my dad first took me to watch West Adelaide play at Hindmarsh. I have seen my fair share of ups and downs over the years (including seeing my team fold) and I am still around despite it all. I ain’t going anywhere. I love the game, I have a huge passion for the sport to do well in this country. I started taking my 5 year old son to games this season and look forward to taking him again throughout the rest of the season.
On a side note, I never have felt threatened at an NSL or a-league match. Even back in the day at hindmarsh when we would play Adelaide city, Melbourne knights, Sydney United, Preston etc and fans from both sides were literally standing next to eachother. Heck I’ve been to Adelaide United games against Melbourne Victory and never worried about anything. Saturday night was a disgrace but 99.99999% of victory fans are like most of us just wanting to go to games and support their club and not worry about their life problems for 90 minutes.

No way will I stop going.A lifelong love affair with football and love the Mariners. The game will survive this shitshow and march on.Hopefully one day there will be a proper football culture in this country and not this stupid faux ultra bullshit.
Watching probably the greatest WC final today will rejuvenate anyone who has even the slightest interest in our great game.Sure there are problems with the league and the coverage and these need to be addressed.
