I really hope Montgomery doesn't go to Sydney right now. Notch up some achievements and then move to another role when the time is right. Not to mention the grass isn't always greener.

I don't think it's the right move for him either now or next season.

Sydney needs to develop it own shit, and the ALeague needs to allow transfer fees.
This wouldn't just be just an attack on the manager but the players he's developed relationships with.
Fucken pricks.

Don’t you fucking dare, Sydney. Develop your own manager and players you fucks.
This would be a terrible move not only for the A-League, but for the national teams, where Monty is developing future stars.

You mean like Corica, Popovic and Talay? We're pricks when they come to us but when they get poached and end up going elsewhere that's perfectly ok?

Poached? -Corica is at Sydney -Popa was the caretaker at in 2009, SFC choose Lavička. -Talay was recruited as an assistant the year before he was snapped up as head of WP. But these are somehow comparable to going after a clubman.who has had an affiliation with just one club in his whole time in the A-league and is current in control of a team? Ffs think outside the box, I'll give you an easy one Benny Cahn, the blokes in the Qld NPL, the bloke who got pipped by Monty only because he knew the Mariners structures. if Monty wasn't there you can bet it would have been Cahn. But Syd FC won't learn will do a world wide search and find the next Ian Crook.

But I'm not worried, why give up the Mariners for a dumpster fire?

Let's also ignore the fact that just about every blub in the league has poached a manager from another a league club at some point.

Why are you insinuating it's "what we do" then when it clearly isn't?

Mate, I didn't insinuate anything the article does, and I honestly don't care about this rumour because im 99% sure Monty doesn't see Sydney as a viable option, noting the garbage fire currently consuming their team .
But as for players and officials Syd FC have taken directly from CCM,after throwing money at them.
Crawley (an GK coach),DDS, Bojic.
You took a few of Newcastle aswell.
Carney as marquee, is my personal favorite
That's just off the top of my head

Every season to decide that season’s team list, we should just throw all the players and coaches names in a hat and draw them out for each club. Absolute merry go round.

Isn't this just what happens in football all over the world. If you do well at a smaller club, you then move to a bigger club. If he does well at SFC (if they get him) they will then lose him to a bigger club overseas. If and when we finally go to a pyramid model these sort of moves will happen far more regularly as the bigger clubs will have to be ruthless like they are overseas.

I honestly don't see Sydney as being a big club, any manager or a player with long-term O/S career aspiration would look to to use as a stepping stone after being at another A-league club. How many of your players have Sydney traded O/S in the last 5 years? 1? King? As for managers, barring Arnie who has progressed? How many of of Sydney's coaches have been assisted in progressing? It seems Sydney wants to be a destination team, is that what Monty wants, I'm gunna say no noting he's already obtained his UEFA Pro coaching license.

The brains trust at Sydney FC says "our manger and team are rubbish, what will we do?". "I know let's take the Mariners coaching staff and players again, it worked last time."
