Three men – a 24-year-old from Beverley Park, a 44-year-old from Doonside and a 45-year-old from Wetherill Park – were charged on Friday under the offence of “knowingly display by public act Nazi symbol without excuse”, and will appear before Parramatta Local Court on April 19. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/three-sydney-united-58-fans-charged-under-new-nazi-symbol-law-20230305-p5cpk9.html

That sounds about right and not surprising.
Imagine the good (not) they will do if selected for the NST!
How to manage the selections, so not to assimilate the old NSL baggage will be interesting.
A SM Hellas vs Preston Macedonia clash for example? Are they allowing the public to attend matches when those two play yet?
Fun days if the FA drops the ball.

+xJust stick to your APL, enjoy your league and CONtribute to Oz football. Played at various levels, coached mens and womens seniors, youth, junior boys and girls - over several decades. I'd say that's not a bad contribution. Mostly a consumer now after the burn-out. Important that the politics and administration is right, including the concerns I have raised. The APL is far from perfect too.

+xJust stick to your APL, enjoy your league and CONtribute to Oz football. The league you followed for 17+ years and now tell us all it was just for your kids and you never enjoyed it anyway because Mono is the only one on the forum that replies to anyone? That league? The league that contributed 90% of players to the best ever Socceroo display at a World Cup in history? That league? Spare me. I hope your new shiny league doesn't become a closed off league where the participants realise how much they spent in the first "bedding down" period and start imposing restrictions on who can come up to the new shiny league You know it's going to happen. This is Australian Football. Nobody shares for the greater good. Never have never will

My friend we are all entitled to differing opinions as you know and course. Fact is it was for the kids farfar more than me is no spin but for the fam (like many of us) I shouldn't have been so honest recently - course of conversation amongst fellow football followers shoot me but also my open mind having given in hoping for the big picture that sadly never evolved in the meantime keep participating with my/our local Clubs right up to NPL to this day. I can't even recall the last game I attended pre covid let alone season before. Here's another take between us if I may, lets put into perspective the differences where we live re - that league, for eg as we know the NSL/NPL being cast aside and without knowing how good or not Adelaide's NPL is can I assume quite to very weak compared to Sydney but you have 1 State AU, that actually is one of the better new/old Clubs in - that league. Thats a good feel aspect for you guys a 1Club - that league town...... Whereas Sydney started with 1 (with all the bs bells and whistles) then 2 now 3, not surprised you have a farfar better feeling than I towards - that league. There have been highs and way more lows here and frequenting local grounds regularly ( do you venture to any npl games) like we are its deflating what you see and gets you pissed off how restrictive what we currently have as 2nd class structure and how Clubs have been treated and the easy paths AL clubs get into the lower leagues but no no one is allowed in - that league. I watch and keep on pulse for its football as mentioned but I've never loved it with passion but interest, I'm allowed to be as such and have a voice. As has been mentioned many times by other posters, some of us just went with the flow and mentioned above - that league and thats all it is not because I say so but how it became and become and look where it is, what does it tell you. As for the WC result - damn I think how much better it could be with that much talent below not having any spaces to fill and neglected. We done good, infact we arsed it imo but thats football, glances/deflections go your way thankfully ours, pity we haven't been able to capitilise on the result but credit where credit is due rippa time for us all. My shiny new league ? , more so its Aussie footballs and the numbers who are alot of backbone in the game right around the country, I'm a happy contributing participant/supporter for the game overall, its all on the FA's watch, fingers crossed they have seen all too well the 2 wrongs of the past don't make a right, thats where I'm at davide. You maybe right this might all turn to poop, if it does our game is set back just as it is right now, real shame real shame.

I do think it will stay a relatively closed shop though for quite some time. I have never been against this new league, against old teams joining the A-League or against P/r dreams. My point might have been snarky but for many many years on here you used to comment on a-league games enthusiastically and join the banter but now you act like you never cared or liked it because the tides have turned and the league has gone to shit. That's fine, it's your prerogative. It's just a shame that you are now in the "burn the a-league down" camp instead of the old "let's try join the leagues" camp

It's just a shame that you are now in the "burn the a-league down" camp instead of the old "let's try join the leagues" camp ok bud I hear you, don't put me completely in that basket of burning fire, there is some good that came out of it I'm just frustrated but excited going through another lets say, revolution that is for the good of the game/systems/players/coachs/development etc (as long as all involved run the ship well and the clubs involved play by the rules fingers crossed) and might I add pull in some supporters who have walked from the game what the previous revolution caused that not many gave a shit about whilst that honeymoon lasted. My contribution here has always been to join the party and enjoy getting to know like minded people like yourself and bonus banter is all part of it. In the big picture we can't even afford ALM fall for as mentioned some good has come out it structually/Pro and commercially but the holes are large I'd just sooner these fuckers suck it up and the FA and bring the game together as per the end of your post. I'm hoping the NST works and forces alot of change in our football system period for the better.

SU58 already got their whack from the FFA Cup final, so using it against them in the NST vetting would be double punishment. They do need to be held accountable for what happened with the indigenous fella though. It's interesting that the club has done everything for 60 years to justify their inclusion, and also from time to time does the perfect thing to warrant their exclusion. In that sense, constantly shooting yourself in the foot like that...... makes them the most fkn aussie soccer club ever.

Yeah, this is different. besides all the football stuff additional police have taken on this brief and they are the first people in the country charged under these laws. Pretty big deal tbh IMO I can't see anyone assessing bids taking a risk with them or knights unless they address these issues (and they've shown the complete opposite). It's a shame, take out the repeated stupidity of this and the constant chip on the shoulder, they have exceptionally strong football clubs with a lot to offer.

Just because its now been almost 80 years since WW2 does not mean we can start to minimise these things. We are watching it all happen in real time
There are a few poisons that always bubble beneath societies' surface and if you look around and appreciate where you live and what you have you would NOT start to accept "just a little bit" of Nazi propaganda and advertising in the name of fairness and balance and from fear of being called racist by the persecution complex deadhead set.

And yet who would get their knickers in a twist if it was a commie group singing the red flag and waving the hammer and sickle?

+xAnd yet who would get their knickers in a twist if it was a commie group singing the red flag and waving the hammer and sickle? Without taking any particular stance on this, Interestingly enough I do recall Melbourne heart having a group called “KGB” about 10 years back. The “G” in the banner was a hammer and sickle. They actually brought it with them to Somers street for their a pre season friendly with Melbourne knights and I’m fairly certain the locals took issue with it from what I can remember. Tbh I think it most was likely more ignorance from the heart fans just thinking it looked and sounded “cool” rather than a genuine political stance. Pretty sure the highlights of that match are still on YouTube, took place in 2011 off the top of my head

My heritage was on the arse end of Soviet BS and I'd be about 0.01% triggered by this compared to the inane ramblings of smug Marxist bullies rolling off the production line at an Australian degree factory.

let's hope the gentlemen in court have a better defence than - 'RBB had a che flag', because if they are found guilty of these hate crimes they can kiss travel, community involvement or job prospects good bye forever.

Fucking "hate crimes" who decides that? what a broad stroke to give authoritarian governments.. The simplest answer is - in Victoria the laws were brought in by a government, democratically elected on 3 occasions, and with a majority. Giving an absolute mandate. These laws have not been challenged and enjoy a huge approval rating with not only the community but other political parties. There re exemptions for Hindus etc however so maybe some lads can convert to hinduism to get around it.

It's the effects of their splashing out of money (mostly borrowed) like drunken sailors. Whilst is applauded by the naïve, it is sending the state bankrupt. Victoria's deficit is heading towards a disastrously status, greater than NSW, Qld and Tasmania combined. You'd have to wonder how educated Victorian voters really are.

I said the proposals to hate crimes were not challenged by major parties and enjoy huge community support. They have a mandate to do what they want because the people of the state have entrusted them with that power on multiple occasions. And as I said, these laws are well supported.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+xlet's hope the gentlemen in court have a better defence than - 'RBB had a che flag', because if they are found guilty of these hate crimes they can kiss travel, community involvement or job prospects good bye forever. These "laws" is not what is getting the government elected. I never said that. I said the proposals to hate crimes were not challenged by major parties and enjoy huge community support. I was having a go at the so called '3 times democratically elected government' as much as anything else - authoritarian some one else called them which is an understatement. Words like Marxism, communism is more right up their alley. Victoria, the communist state of Australia. I got no sympathy for them or its people who re-elect that dictator Dan Andrews. One only has to see what he did during the covid lockdowns. Pig. Hear, hear. Chairman Dan is still trying his hardest to get that Belt and Road arrangement back as well. It won't save the state going bankrupt.
