I think sport in general is pretty fucked.

You got the world cup and champions league legendary tournaments that are being ruined by changed formats. 

Clubs owned by countries just throwing money at players while the gap Widens from other clubs.

Super League .... yeah how terrible would a competition that ONLY allows the same old tired clubs to compete every year without fear of relegation and excludes 99.9% of football clubs in Australia .... ooops I meant Europe.

MCG, there has always been the have's and have not's, no matter the era/decades.
Just nowadays the $$$'s are far more and the type of owners has spread where you never imagined many years ago.
Progress as they say ? I agree its questionable trouble is the gov bodies can't regulate it well enough, rich owners have the $$ to contest laws when pinged over fair play policies etcetcetc....in turn the Gov bodies are as greedy as the rich owners.

Well, yes on your assessment of the DT. but it was the NSW government that pulled the plug on the Bayern game. 

Source?! Thought Bayern M pulled out because of payment amount?? Couldn’t Super Danny organise another club to play instead?! The clown has had weeks since Bayern game cancelled 

Bayern were going to be paid by the NSW gov, but the gov decided to pull the funding as the funds could be utilized better elsewhere in the budget. The estimated fee was $6.5-8m. Which sucks, but is completely understandable. Gov money moves around all the time and stuff like this is often on the chopping block as it is not exactly necessary spending. But the question still comes back to the APL and what happened to their week long celebration of football. The Bayern game was just one game, what about the rest of the week?
Also what is a Mashd N Kutcher? Apparently that is the musical guest at the GF. I'm too old to know about music made in the last decade. Question to anyone here born in the mid 90s, is this a good musical guest?

Townsend aligning himself with a government that was about to be tossed out, is another massive fuck up. It almost feels like he threw in all his eggs in the Perrottet basket. and the end result was the Bayern Munich debacle.

Seems to me that they needed to blow their budget before financial year so that the same amount would be allocated next financial year.  

The APL seemed an ideal place to give money away for no return.   

Unfortunately this makes more sense than anything else I've heard

Seeing as they were unable to secure any international/all-stars game for the weekend just past. Maybe they could have had a 3rd place match between SFC and AU. The finals series is a knockout comp after all. Probably wouldn't have pulled a huge crowd, but as a last ditch Plan D it would have been something. Something is usually better than nothing. At least there wouldn't have been this void week. The momentum wouldn't have dropped off like it has.

Would've been funny if the 3rd place match pulled a larger crowd than the final.
