+x+xWhere will they play the final if it's south Melbourne vs victory because aami park is booked out with car racing I wouldn't really call Monster Jam 'car racing'... more of a stunt show. +x+xWhere will they play the final if it's south Melbourne vs victory because aami park is booked out with car racing GMHBA Stadium is one report i am hearing that City of Greater Geelong are lobbying very hard to have it in Geelong. Yuck. Unless it's Melbourne Victory v Macarthur (as stated below). If South are in (and AAMI Park is out), I can only see Marvel or Lakeside being the options If it was south MV, and no aami - it has to be south

I hope this is true I have a family do on the 5th that I can't get out of... would absolutely, quite literally, bawl my eyes out like a baby if South gets into the Australia Cup final and Im not there....

Victory was, is and ever will be the tards. Commies have really fucked up the education system in tardland Yeah, if you consider 4 years or so long term, I suppose I am... Still dont know what a "tard is though, why dont you with your ultra capitalist superior education explain?

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xNice goal well played - no one there MSC oh is the crowd empty? Weird And the Victorians laugh at Western United’s crowds. 500-600 max. Are there any Sydney clubs left in the Australia cup so we can compare? hahahahahahahaha Mate, Ill play along just for shits and giggles, it hailed 3 hours before kickoff in Melbourne, rained steadily (and at times heavily) from 1 hour before KO to the start of second half of ET two clubs that have played each other 4 times this season already It was a Wednesday for some bizarre reason (I thought quarters, semis and finals where "promised" to be weekend games) 1,700 was a half decent crowd, could have been 4k in better circumstances... Think small and that is what you will end up as. No wonder the NST is a dead duck. All the crowds in the cup are quite poor, in ALL states. Just a question for you. What kind of crowds would SMH attract if they were in the top division. Honestly I think we'd get a really good crowd for the first year IF we played well and we weren't playing in the dregs of winter, I don't think we have any trouble attracting casuals and or nostalgia merchants but its getting people to stick around during winter witch is incredibly hard. Fair enough, but the top division is played mainly in summer. Going by what Mono says, I think anything short of 10,000 would be really disappointing, considering games against the three other Melbourne teams would boost it. Turn it up you old shitstirrer you.... ahahahah it will take at LEAST 2 seasons to get up to the 10k mark. lol But back in the real world, if your question is sincere, I agree with Sth of the Yarra, first season would have see some decent crowds (who know numbers but considering NPL finals at Lakeside used to draw 4-6 thousand a few years ago I would think this would be the "pass mark"?) Sure some of the lesser matches would be pretty small crowds but I would bet that both us and Preston will draw good crowds against each other, both home and away, against the old NSL rivals like Marconi, Syd Olympic and Syd United, possibly even Wolves and APIA... Dont underestimate the power of nostalgia... Its the second and third season that is the worry at this stage... if the match day experience isnt improved, if access to the league isnt easy on TV/Streaming, if the actual football is lacklustre... if, if, if... then perhaps the crowds wont come back a second or third season.... All this is moot anyway Sutho, your franchises have won the war mate, its not happening... The big bad scary "effniks" will never get the access they deserve to better themselves... its dead before it even started. The "concept" will get brought up again in a about a decade by which stage there wont be anyone around that even cares anymore.... Turn it up you old shitstirrer you.... ahahahah it will take at LEAST 2 seasons to get up to the 10k mark. lol You really don't do irony, do you ? BTW, they are, Australia's franchises, not mine . Ive told you before I let the wife do the irony (I wonder if NINJA has an iron so I can support Australian football, anniversary is coming up and Im stumped for a gift.) Dont you support one of the franchises? One of the effnik ones too from memory? Jewish or something arent they? Like Spurs... do they chant "Yid Army" like their cousins overseas perhaps? You need to leave the comedy to the funny guys. FWIW, I would say that Sydney’s support is 95% Anglo, dont see many scooby doo’s TBF. Not anymore, maybe the Cove is but the right north side has a massive Brazillian and Colombian cohort, probably a good 1000ish. Same with the Ukrainians and Russians in the Eastern side, granted there used to be more but still a strong amount. I seen more Gremio jerseys at games than Del Piero ones, sign of the times. No one should be wearing a Del Piero jersey in 2024. I have only seen the odd Gremio strip, but not loads, and i can see pretty much around the whole stadium from cove heights. Why not? Mine still fits me. You should be wearing if for the logo on the front, not 'just' the name on the back. I would understand that for a pre pubescent teen, not a grown adult, or a teenager for that matter. You Aussies don’t get it. Update and buy a new strip every season , and support your club. Retro is good , every now and then.

If you need a new one, well.. that's what there is. Doesn't mean people can't wear what they already have. I mean.. I got more positive comments about wearing my 2005 Socceroos Away shirt when Socceroos played in Canberra than I have any 'current' jersey I would ever wear at a game.

But hey, at least they're in new kits I suppose back to the original quote by ol mate, I always thought its a badge of honour having/wearing a old kit that many would wish for. It may be in some scenarios, but new kits every season are flying off the shelves, to suggest most people don't agree with you.( Maybe in Australia they will ) This hands down is the dumbest conversation I have read on this forum in the last 12 months - and I've been reading the NST thread every day for the last year... Well ,scroll on past newbie.

Everyone is fixated on a potential MV v SM final for obvious reasons but its not moving the dial for me.
My dream final is South v Adelaide. Our last nsl match was against them 20 years ago, it would be fitting if we could play them again 2 decades on with a national trophy on the line. Plus we would get to keep home ground advantage and 12,000 crammed into Lakeside supporting South would be a great atmosphere.

+xAlso I want to complain about something else The semis are next weekend then the final is two weeks after October 5th so all momentum from the semis will be lost. People's attention spans are gone these days so you'll forget in two weeks. If South make the final mate I can guarantee you I wont be forgetting :P

I'm not usually one to complain about having a home game on a Saturday night at AAMI Park, but in this instance, it just feels like a dumb idea with the AFL Prelim across the train tracks. a Sunday double header at Lakeside feels like a better idea.
If we go through and end up playing SM in the final, playing it at Lakeside seems like a no brainer. But I am guessing CH10 would have a say in this and we'll be heading to G-Town

But hey, at least they're in new kits I suppose back to the original quote by ol mate, I always thought its a badge of honour having/wearing a old kit that many would wish for. Its is mate, don't let some foreigner tell you what you can and can't wear... Someone has to bring you convicts into the 21st Century. The days of stubbies, flip flops and vests are gone. convicts???? I think your arguing against the wrong crowd here. Pretty sure Nic's and LFC's ancestors where never chained to a boat on the trip down to Australia...
You are all Australians at the end of the day. ( AKA, convicts )
Can you take your shite banter off the Australian cup thread pleeeease

Mate, Ill play along just for shits and giggles, it hailed 3 hours before kickoff in Melbourne, rained steadily (and at times heavily) from 1 hour before KO to the start of second half of ET two clubs that have played each other 4 times this season already It was a Wednesday for some bizarre reason (I thought quarters, semis and finals where "promised" to be weekend games)
1,700 was a half decent crowd, could have been 4k in better circumstances...

+xWho are we genuinely thinking for the final? I reckon Macarthur vs Victory in Sydney I don't know who wins south or MacArthur I didn't think either team was particularly impressive. Besides kurto he will be hard to beat. Victory should be to good for Adelaide though
