Get fucked. I've been consistently going to most smfc games for the past decade, and they play in what country? He meant, top level football, not the minor version. Then why didn't he say it? My apologies, I don't follow any teams in the EPL, but I know all the best players. Ur actually so dense First you tell me to get fucked, now you calling me dense, charming bloke!!! I hope you don't have children. HAHA fair enough, why not? Because they won't put up with bs from ppl like you? Oi - no need to behave like this, robbos is cool relax He's not behaving like it, most of the people on here (including urself) are cool and are down to talk, having proper convocations about football but our friend Robbos just likes to make snarky comments. But you are the one calling me dense & telling me to get fucked because I asked whether you followed football in this country because you asked about Bratten, one of the top players in Australia, though getting long in the tooth. But I'm the nasty one? never have I told you to fuck off or call you dense. Who is Bratten mate? Is he that guy with the headband that plays for MaCarthur that was complaining about the pitch at Lakeside being "too spongy" and then the next week played on a paddock with rugby union markings on it? HAhahaha is he one of the top players in Australia? The guy is a hack mate, nothing but slow movement and clumsy challenges, shouldnt have even played in the final but for lenient reffing in the semi. oh dear Robbo. Mono, he's an old man now, why SFC let him go. Bit like me on a English football forum asking who is this James Milner guy because I don't have a team in the PL. Not exactly... Im not on any English football forums but football fans there have a unity of purpose as their clubs are ALL linked... People who have teams in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th divisions keep an eye out on the EPL as they dream of one day playing against these clubs.... sigh, how wonderful that would be eh? Instead of this plastic super league you are so fond of. You have the Australian cup, you can dream of playing SFC one day. You really think that as a Derby supporter I dream of playing Liverpool or Man City, you have got to be joking. Liverpool if you now include Chiesa, he was quality 3 years back, not sure now, but if you include him Liverpool has 6 world class strikers, Jota, Diaz, Salah, Nunez, Gakpo, how does any team bar the top 4-5 teams compete with that (I laugh when people say only Man City cheating). No thanks I'd rather stay in the championship where we have a chance to beat all teams.I watch the PL for the players, the clubs have stuffed up the competition, how surprising Man City, Liverpool & Arsenal top 3, YAWN, again. I dream of the day these BS rich clubs piss off to the European Super league. Oh, I see now... got ya.. your that type of supporter... all good,,, stay happy with mediocrity... explains your views on the Socceroos as well.. all good mate. Maybe one day, if you ever get the chance, ask some of your fellow Derby supporters if THEY dream of the EPL or not... you may be surprised. Just go to super league, it's an unfair competition, I would take any 1 of the 3 world class forwards you have sitting on the bench & build my team around them & play in the PL. The Derby I followed won the English div 1 (now known as PL), now it's the same clubs that buy the competition, it's not football. I dont disagree that money has created a huuuuugee gap but it IS still football... Derby can ON THE PARK can still dream man...... Were arguing two different points I think. I'm not arguing, I'm showing you that as a Derby fan, I will never see or dream of them winning the PL & this will never happen in my lifetime, I blame the big clubs for causing this HUGE gap. So I just watch the players. You may never see Sth Melb in the Australian top flight again & you blame the clubs & the APL, I can understand that, but you blaming the fans & the players of the A-League as well, which is what I don't understand. Why not mate? Leeds fans where resigned to never plating in the EPL for decades, as where Forrest fans.... Lets not mention Leicester... the gap is ridiculous and only growing bigger I agree, but the point is there IS an avenue if the clubs chooses to take it.... As for blaming players.... thats not really accurate either mate, players are players... If I say I dislike someone or do know another has nothing to do with where they play... As for the Aleague fans... well, they support a system that discriminates against the other 1000+ cubs in this country... some of them have no idea and are blameless consumers which is fair enough but SOME, know very well what they are supporting and are the cause of our shambolic football culture in my opinion.
See this is where we see it differently, take Forest for example, what a brave win against Liverpool for Forest fans, they should be proud, they played pretty woeful football, hung on, backs to the wall, relied on Liverpool having an off day in front of goal & scored a lucky goal, is this football? Not for me. Compare that to Osasuna, who scored 4 against Barcelona, playing champagne football, na I prefer Derby to play decent football to back to the walls football against the big teams in the PL. Funny you should mention Leeds my Leeds mate says he's happier with Leeds in the Championship, much fairer league. I spoke to my friends yesterday & said a team like the Mariners (back to back A-League champions) would never win in the PL ever again. I remember Derby winning 2nd division & winning the Div 1 2 years later or Notts Forest went from Div 2 champions to Div 1 champions to European cup winners in 3 years. Every club that comes up, 2 of them go back down the following year these days. I call this a system that does not support all but 5-6 clubs in the English football. While not a closed shop as in the A-League, it might as well be. Funny too that you follow the AFL & that is a closed competition too.
Forest v Liverpool is a great example. Three sets of football fans watched that game all around the world. Liverpool fans - would have been disappointed at the poor finishing on display and the unexpected loss. Neutral fans - would have seen a toothless tiger get beaten by a woeful team through a stroke of luck and poor defending Forrest fans - would be jumping up and down for joy beating a hated enemy through sheer determination and hard work. That is pure football. yes economically unfair, yes structurally unfair how it is set up that the haves will ALWAYS have a better chance than the have nots but .... the have nots at leastr get a glimpse of joy every now and then. If the EPL was clsoed off then this match never happens and forrest fans never get to experience it.... A system that doesnt support the bottom 90 clubs as much as it supports the top 5-6 in the pro system is a hell of a lot betetr tha a system that doesnt allow the bottom clubs a chance at EVER playing against the top clubs.... As for AFL, mate that isnt even a sport... Thats a local pastime that has great financial and crowd support in 3/4 of Australia. They are an entertainment product, as long as there are teams to play and TV timeslots to fill they dont care about how good the product on the pitch is, who have they got to compare it too anyway? Think of AFL like WWE wrestling, or big bash cricket or Aleague football.. it just exists to have a shopfront to sell things to consumers...
You speaking from a Liverpool fan (one of the top 6) & I'm seeing it from a Derby fan. It doesn't affect you, it affects me. When you next play Arsenal or Real Madrid, fighting for the PL or Europena glory, you're not thinking of Notts Forest or Derby fans. I'm a SFC fan (a bit like the Liverpool fan), I'm OK this is how the APL runs it, I don't agree with no P/R, but this is what we have, so it doesn't affect me like it affects you. I will be in 2-3 weeks time in a sold out Parramatta stadium against our bitter rivals & the atmosphere will be unreal & unfortunately I'm not thinking of Sth Melb fans.
Fair enough mate... I hope you beat your bitter rivals... Enjoy the game and the atmosphere, I dont begrudge you that. Have fun. Must be comforting to not really worry about whether you win or lose the match, the result itself is beside the point.. its all about the coloured smoke and the little songs.
I seriously hope one day I can hate (in the nicest possible way) on you from a SFC v Sth Melb game in the top flight. I fully understand your plight & would suggest you continue your grievances with the FA & the APL, (who would struggle to run a chook raffle), but then I also think that FIFA are just as bad, as a matter of fact far worse, but I still tune in for every World cup, Euros, Asian cup & concaf.
Even better a SFC v SMFC match were the loser gets relegated!
hahahahahahahahahahaahahahaahahaahh Oh shit I can dream can't I?
Its all good bloke, enjoy your football as I know you do.... I hate FIFA, UEFA, FA all the bloody "suits" are just as bad as each other... my only "crime" is I love my club too much
