+x+x+x+xHey you’re closer to Griffith hahaha not surprised. in all seriousness we are growing a lot with syn for sometime. Says a lot about the local clubs and councils. Games keep being played rain hail shine and trainings. +x+xHey you’re closer to Griffith hahaha not surprised. in all seriousness we are growing a lot with syn for sometime. Says a lot about the local clubs and councils. Clubs fund raise and keep badgering councils to tip in. Even below NPL syn pitches are more common in Prem 1 league than grass actually. Games keep being played rain hail shine and trainings. I think they are pushing for them in state leagues and community clubs down here too mate, just at the NPL 1 level mainly that they prefer to play on grass.... WHO HATH DOTH SUMMONED ME Hahahah LFC wants to cultivate some mary jane and reckons Griffith may be the place to do it..... LOL hahahahahahaahah Bit late to be an entrepreneur there I reckon hehe too right........ I hear you Bohemia its a challenging surface depending the era you came from and sure injuries are rife for some and some not. The point is here in Sydney was more so due to so many washed out weekends - the growth of the game, womens growth and the other codes making it hard to make use of grounds for make up games etcetcetc..... It just makes sense so the countless players/parents who pay those exorbedant fees get their bang for buck and the game carries on, trainings as well. Now APIA/SU Sutho and those listed prior have had syn for yonks - IF it was that wrong FNSW would have done something about it. Now don't get me wrong grass is the BEST full stop for top flight football but this is Oz the unique football country as we well know. MSC I have played on it a number of times, from one of the first done to the latest greatest ones, I have a luv hate relationship with it, passing is like being on a snooker table, pure brilliant, but the bloody ball keeps running away from you unlike slowing up like on grass, that one thing to get used to, the other is the bounce, its pure and not depending the age or latest spec. I've been a AM all my playing times, have been known to bang in a few crackers from out the box or from hanging out the box during corners, sometimes I hit the ball sweet and peach and other times I kind of collect too much syn between ball therefore the hot is a fizzer whereas on grass there is more give getting under the ball and follow through. Above that when you playing with a team that can move the ball around well and pace its great fun. It sure strains your leg muscles far more than grass - well thats what my body tells me, wondered wtf am I feeling sore whereas on grass I didn't feel it as much. Ask my current 24yr old ex SAP/YL/NPL now Prem 1 kid, he knows nothing else for games, I lol and giggle the rare times they play on grass for it changes their game so much. Too used to 1 touch football, flick here flick there, rain hail but I have watched his team that is pretty good to watch struggle to assert their authority who they are playing, if on syn they'll skin them so playing on grass is a leveller as it was for us in the ol days playing in the rain on grass. He's hardly had an injury, others no diff to grass, some are injury prone works both ways.

Caroline Springs George Cross 9. Brisbane Strikers Wowsers ..... but not surprising after Strikers breakaway.... In other news, was chatting to a Knights fan at the derby last night and told him I hoped that wasnt the last time they visited Lakeside for a while... he winked and said "Don't worry, there will be 3 x times as many of us here next season" ..... I asked for details (he is a loooong time member and around the club all the time) but he just said "wait and see" with a smile.....

Now Brisbane United, because they don't actually have a Team or anywhere to play, are now relying on FA using Expansion
So much for P&R

This would have to be South Hobart, the only ones to put in an original EOI and be accepted for the RFP process

typical of our game, one says this the other says that. Pignata, I used to admire your management savvy back in the day, wake up - it would be far more viable and smart supporting a NST Tas inclusion than getting behind a costly APL license. Douche bag.

Perhaps old Tony has been promised shares in any future Aleague franchise mate? Certainly sounds like it .

FC32 could sell today if they actually saw the writing on the wall an realised the club/license simply isn't worth what they think it is, regardless of how much they've spent propping it up. It's been on the market for 3 years and we know there has been a number of interested parties. It would be a damn shame if it went under just because some suits didn't get what they wanted.

US-based consortium FC32 have withdrawn from negotiations to assume ownership of the Newcastle Jets after the group's latest bid was rejected by the current owners - the chairman of rival clubs who have been bankrolling the Jets. https://www.newcastleherald.com.au/story/8580608/newcastle-jets-ownership-update/?cs=305

+x+x+x+x+x+x+xOn 10 October, Sunshine Coast FC received notice from Football Queensland (FQ), through their legal representatives, that they would not be invited to submit applications for participation licences for 2024.This effectively ended the club’s affiliation with FQ and left them without any state league competitions to participate in. Eight days later, FQ released their provisional declaration of leagues with Sunshine Coast FC nowhere to be found. However, a new club appeared that Wilkes believes is a direct replacement for Sunshine Coast FC. “Football Queensland then confirm that Sunshine Coast United is a new entity run by Football Queensland, and they will be entering the advanced league pathway stream,” said Wilkes. “We knew about Sunshine Coast United prior because [FQ] did exactly the same in the early part of 2020 when we had female SAP (skill acquisition phase) players in the under 9s to under 12s. “This Sunshine Coast United cropped up and took all of our junior girls, causing our SAP girls program to cease, to shut down. “After 12 months, that Sunshine Coast United disappeared … so they’ve had form on this.” This shit makes me so mad....... Im sure there may be two sides to the story but from the outside it looks like the former Brisbane City Aleague Bid poster boy is playing God up there and needs to have his head booted in.... Pays himslef an obscene salary to pretty much protect his mates investments... all the while kiddies are being fleeced to play NPL..... Nick Galatas on Qld ABC yesterday about the Football Queensland ding dong https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/south-queensland-drive/drive/103145052starts at 1:04:20 goes about 7 minutes. It just keeps getting better doesn't it? It does ... or doesn't Depends which way you look at it. https://x.com/RobCavallucci/status/1731579643638252031?s=20 OMFG.... hahahaha @Muz and @tsf please tell me the language this clown uses doesn't remind you of a certain lower case individual preaching in the Extra time threads? hahahahahahahahah So this might be where still not having a Full Pyramid bites in the arse Looks like what Cavallucci is getting at, is that clubs that just decide to leave the FQ pyramid can't chose where they re-enter if they ever want to come back. Sunshine, Knights, GCU, Olympic etc haven't earnt promotion, they've just looked at fucking off to another stand alone competition for as long as they chose or get relegated. Re Sunshine Coast situation, They've been kicked out of FQPL1 (below the NPLQ) for reasons unknown at this point. Now, just because FA might let them in to the NST, that doesn't mean that they get straight entry to the NPLQ when Relegation starts operating. That hasn't been worked through or agreed. They haven't earnt their place in the NPL to begin with, even if they can afford to buy in to the NST 2025 https://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/sunshine-coast/sunshine-coast-fire-reveal-overseas-competition-admission-amid-football-queensland-dispute/news-story/d6b6e53725bd213138080894b84e81f9"Players will be required to commit to a 10 month full-time program in the UK, consisting of pre-season preparations, training, matches and remote online learning delivered by Peregian Beach College."

Uh-oh, not all is happy clappy
Melbourne Knights Football Club can today confirm that it will not be, and has no intention of applying for the recently announced National Second Tier in it’s current proposed state. While being a long time advocate for such a competition, a number of key elements remain to be of concern. The Club firmly believes it to be in the best interests of the game in Australia that the current proposed competition either be further delayed, or abandoned entirely. The Club remains an advocate of an NST and welcomes further dialogue with Football Australia.
