oh no PR talk here - just dropped from the squad for performing poorly. I mean, that's what old mate expects from referees he thinks performs poorly. Can't see why players shouldn't be immune from criticism like that.

I remember having a match I was in charge of, and about 5 minutes in, one of the strikers tells me "poor decision ref", because I let the advantage play on after he was fouled, the team moved forward about 10m to the edge of the box, took a shot that was saved and then they earned a corner, but he still wanted that free kick.

5 minutes later, he is just outside the box with the ball, player open through to his right, but he decides to take a shot, shanks it to high and to the right. As we get back into position for the goal kick while the goalie gets the ball, I say to him (and just loud enough for a few others on the field to hear as well) - "Wow, and I thought I made bad decisions."

Referees only make decisions on what they have. APL brings in this technology and stuff as they say fit. Yes I agree that how VAR is used can be quite a blight on the professional game, and it's even more ridiculous that APL allows the use of VAR, but not goal-line technology. However, the referees can only utilise the tools they have. It's understandable that a referee can think a ball crosses the line when the margins are that fine. And I am still yet to see video footage of this incident that should have been a red card from MAC v WSW.

I get that sometimes referees make howlers, and mistakes, and are dropped from matches, etc as a result of this. But referees don't cost games. Players do. You lost by a goal in a match where more than half of your shots are off target? Maybe you should get your players to shoot against a barn door for training, instead of bitching and moaning that you can't light flares anymore.

Young Daniel Bennie looks to be getting better with more match minutes like Di Pizio, he's also 17 but they are getting better but another interesting talent from that Joeys team that would not look out of place in the next Young Socceroos team.

But he's got interesting dribbling skills and looks to be a good mover off the ball too.

Talk about young Socceroos what happened to Jonny Yull? Adelaide really are quite one dimensional with all of those crosses but a good fight back to get a draw.

It will suck if we lose volpato, but seeing bernando and jelacic softens the blow a bit if it comes to that. You never know how much they will develop but we are producing creative 10s. 3 in one age group says to me that we should start producing these players

Surely the 2008 Adelaide hosting Roar and Roar wore orange can't be beat. That gave me eye cancer (German phrase). Red on orange was just ouch. 

And that's why we love it. I'll watch about 100 set of highlights this weekend and see something similar for sure. 

How a pro footballer is unable to use both feet, is unimaginable.

Wood's miss is one of the worst misses ive seen ever watching this league, how could he miss from that close? Just use your left foot, this is basic level stuff you learn from u10s.

At least Sydney are up quite easily, they have been the better team the Mariners who look quite off from their usual level.
