Out of interest, do you happen to support Sydney United ? If so were you able to get down to the match yourself? Always a decent contingent of travelling support from United which helps to make these particular Sydney derbies so enjoyable

Have always thought it was a bit of a misconception that the RBB are all arabs. As far as I’m aware it’s a real mix of backgrounds. A few of the “infamous” shirtless capos who have often been pictured in the media are Croatian. Born and raised in Croatia infact. But in terms of the broader group, just as far as individuals I’m personally aware of it’s made up of people of Anglo, Italian, Greek, Croatian, Bosnian, Turkish, Assyrian, Latin America heritage

yes quite diverse thats for sure, I tend to see it as Beretta quotes but alas, without knowing them I probably shouldn't pigeon hole.

Great win by your team, mind you SU are nothing like the previous couple of seasons nonetheless big games are always brilliant no matter.
Certainly have picked up compared to early season.
APIA struggling :(

Ah cool interesting.
so that’s leaders what of the bulk of them re backgrounds any idea you guys in the know ?

Now days, it is a complete mix but most are Australians with some sort 3rd-4th gen migrant background.

The drumming crew are of South America and South East Asia however.

Yeah, it really reads like a Sopranos episode, alot of sour grapes from Raciti.... The fact that he is a board member at Club Marconi and other members are trying to dissuade him from pushing a motion to sack the board says it all really....

One thing is clear, the money is flowing through the Palace, some if it under the tables :)

looking forward to this weekends final round in ACT NPL - (Former) Powerhouse Canberra Olympic faces off away against last years Premiers O'Connor Knights, in a MUST WIN match for them. Anything less will see them RELEGATED to Canberra's second division (unless of course Capital Football do a CBF in Brazil and alter the competition so they stay in the top flight).

If they do manage to win, then Griffith's Yoogali SC will also need to defeat a travelling Tuggeranong United to not face the immediate drop back to the Capital Premier League. A draw (in the event Olympic win) would see Yoogali and Olympic tied on points at the bottom of the table, but interestingly when it comes to relegation/promotion, it is not the goal difference that is the first tiebreaker, it's the position on the ladder for the U23's (which Olympic is currently 4 points clear of Yoogali, so they have that covered)
Queanbeyan City have already guaranteed promotion to the NPL next year.

Blacktown 4-2 St George AET
Apia 1-2 Sydney United FT

Major Semis (Winners advance to the final)
Marconi Vs Blacktown
Rockdale Vs Sydney United

APIA v Sydney united last night was a great game, very entertaining, good atmosphere. APIA really fell away second half of the season. Sydney united always strong in one off games. Good away support from their fans last night too.

Grand final to be played at parramatta stadium next Saturday. Absolutely spewing that I happen to be interstate that weekend of all weekends. Am very quietly considering flying back just for the match if Marconi end up making it. A Marconi v Rockdale or Marconi v Sydney united final at parramatta would both be great days out.

Blacktown needed extra time to get the job done last night so I dare say there’s a chance they’ll have some heavy legs this weekend. Supposed to be mid to high 20s and sunny on Sunday so hopefully a decent crowd. Probably would have been better if it was an Marconi v APIA  semi

it was a good game, and a great atmosphere. Always enjoyed going out to lambert park. Sydney United have had the edge over APIA, i think they haven't lost in the last 9 meetings. The last one would of been the 2019 Grand Final.

A rockdale united final would be pulled a big crowd.
Marconi will do ;)

lost 9games drawn 3, was surprised how the wheels fell off.
Defense leaked 48goals.
SU been a bogey for a long time and 3times this season.
Was annoyed and my boys that the Spirit game was on for would have been great being there.
Got the Waratah Cup Totti at least.

Best of luck Glenardo, I'm impressed Stallions done better than I expected this season.
He's been a good soldier for you guys.

South v Hume.

Great drama but very ordinary game of football, South were outright atrocious, just long balls to nowhere, Hume play the prettier football but seem to have no interest in trying to score. Inevitably we had a stalemate, South reduced to 10 men just before the 90 was up. Despite the numerical advantage Hume simply didnt do enough, cracking goal out of nowhere from Souths max mikkola, Hume lifted slightly in an effort to get an equaliser but was mostly just some decent crosses, 2nd half of extra time they were almost resigned to defeat and did nothing.

South have now beaten Hume 1-0 a ridiculous 4 times this season with one more to play in the cup.

As for next weeks grand final, no Ross Archibald looks like a broken collarbone and no Andy Brennan (red card). The winner of tomorrows other semi between Avondale and Oakleigh will go in as favourite, South looking to avoid 3 grand final losses in a row.

South's had a great season. Ugly football is part of the style these days but considering the follow on from Olympic and the crammed high pressure they've dealt with (Dockerty Cup, Wellington, Avondale) just glad they had enough in the tank to get over the line.

Next few games gonna be real tough, especially with Brennan and Archibald out for the GF...

Queanbeyan City have already guaranteed promotion to the NPL next year.

Wow what a game at O'Connor!

O'Connor Knights went up 2-0 early in the O'Connor Derby, with Olympic pulling 1 back around 25 minutes into the first half. They equalised with just over 5 minutes to go in the first half, and they headed to the break back at square 1.

O'Connor went 3-2 up with about 20 minutes left, and then almost immediately conceded a penalty to allow Olympic to draw level yet again.
Then with just 5 minutes remaining, Olympic score a great goal to go up 4-3, and hold onto the lead until the final whistle, with the ball firmly in their court re: relegation.

Yoogali must now win their home game tomorrow against Tuggeranong United (8th v 6th) to stay alive in the NPL, otherwise they will be the first team that has been promoted to the NPL under the current structure (beginning 2021) to be relegated.

Half time in Griffith, and Yoogali take a 1-0 lead just before half-time!

As things stand, Canberra Olympic relegated to Canberra's second division for 2025.
