+x+x+xUnsure how Velupillay and Khelifi get selected ahead of Arzani and to some extent Folami, add Chapman at RB and you get an attacking clusterfuck. I've watched every minute of Victory this year, and I can honestly say my choice of wingers to start would be Velupillay and Khelifi/Folami. Arzani has started most games and produced 1 goal!! That is pitiful as an attacker and sure as hell doesn't warrant Socceroo's selection. I've said this a few times in this thread, but I'll repeat, his product is absolutely woeful, and all this potential people claim he has is just hot air. This is just utter rubbish. Velupillay is absolute shite - Arzani would have double digit assists this season if Velupillay could actually finish. Regarding goals, yeah he could probably score a few more, but his game is built around setting chances up & beating defenders in the build up to goals. He would be great as an impact player coming on with 25/ 30 left on the clock for the Roos I agree Velupillay isn't great but he is still better than Arzani. Popa has dropped him to the bench for a reason, and that reason is a winger who can't score goals is absolute rubbish. Secondly, how predicable Arzani's play is; the way he stops the ball dead and slows the play right down (literally every time he receives it) he would be torn to shred by any decent international level player, even those of Asia.

+x+x+xNo Nisbet, Arzani instead we still got Baccus who warming the bench in SPL. Why would you pick Arzani, the guy is shit. Victory bench player and couldn't score a goal if his life depended on it. Arzani draws defenders to him and frees up teammates to score more than himself - 2 goals 5 assists - has started more games then he’s been on bench this season. Borello had good run last season but makes squad with just 1 goal (just yesterday!) and 3 assists Pretty much all Arzani's assists have been from set pieces. Whilst I will admit he occasionally does well to draw a player and take on a defender, he lacks any sort of end product, and always has. I'll be honest, I too was fooled into thinking Arzani had all this potential and I would love to see him in the national team, but now I've watched him for a whole season I have completely changed my mind. He is honestly pretty hopeless; his level is bench A-league player.

+x+xGlover, Deng, Miller, Jones, Yazbek, Silvera, Borello. Better options are out there … Name them Glover is suspect. Some A League keeper in form could've entered the camp. Deng is playing J League and the selection is justified. Great NZ away. Crumbled against Ecuador. Just one game. Circati would be in but for his special case. Miller is now out but shouldn't have been selected anyway. Strain and the new generation see us healthy at right back. I think Yazbek is good and needs to get a run. Robertson injured and Genreau MIA. Another of the unassuming club actually putting in the hard yards and can actually play so give Yazbek a go. Silvera is class on his day. As others have mentioned, Arnold is bogged down with older favourites and we don't have that many games so we can't give the 11 the biggest of shake ups. Our calendar is full of qualifiers now so we won't have many friendlies. Now and June dead rubbers are an opportunity.

+xMiller ruled out, so Nizzy gets his first senior call up!! In fact, this might be the first time he's represented Australia at any level, not sure? He's deserved his shot after the season he's had. Nisbet probably just got off the plane from India haha

+x+x+xNo Lawrence Thomas? That'll make Mark Rudan happy. Yeah, wonder what he did to warrant being dropped. Maybe he didn't sit up straight when he was on the bench in Qatar. Ryan must have sensed his toes in the water in the 50m god damn moat around him so the tail told the dog to drop him :D

Why Glover gets picked is beyond me. At Boro whenever he concedes he instantly raises his arms and blames teammates for allowing goal to be scored- every single time. Fucken loser no where near good enough for International games. Thomas robbed yet again. Arnold really has shit for brains now

+xBorello selection is proof that these coaches pick favourites and who they like. Arnold is all about culture and someone who he can have a laugh with rather than form. I don't mind Borello, but he has done nothing this season to warrant selection - I've said a number of times Arzani & or Irankunda should've been picked instead of Borello, but I'd pick Milanovic over Borello - he's a great young prospect

+x+x+x+xi think we saw last night why arzani shouldn't really be there Velupillay and Khelefi were rubbish - no shots on target. Arzani creates momentum & attracts defenders which frees up other attacking players to get the team more scoring opportunities.
But they are nowhere near the Aussie squad anyway so not saying much. did you see the space western got because he let the player make a run from left back without tracking?
Don’t get me wrong. Arzani is good, but he needs to score more and be better defensively. He was a big contributor to not winning
Unless Popa told him Not to track back and stay forward? but yeah if Arzani just didn’t bother then Popa should tell Arzani he didn’t do what was best for team and he must follow coach instructions etc there was a huge space with the left back running up and scoring the equaliser. It wasn't even instruction stuff, it's the last two minutes, you get back and defend, common sense football he's very dynamic and good but that appeared lazy

at some point we gotta bite the bullet and start blooding guys like Irankunda/Volpato/Kuol into the squad.... I dont give a fuck if they arent in good form now.... start building the fucking team for our next WC cycle. I think Fornaroli is a great player but fuck me dead surely we got someone else? hes fucking ancient.
off topic but is his sci-fi book any good?

Duke so far only came on as a super sub in J League. He hasn't done anything yet to deserve a call up. He is also pretty disappointing in the Asian cup.

+x+xGlover - despite playing a few matches for Middlesbrough he is not an international standard keeper. Always looks to blame someone else when he concedes, even when he is clearly at fault.Jones - contributed next to nothing at the Asian Cup. Why select three right backs, plus Deng who can also play right back and it is realistically where he will most likely play if he does get a run. Borello - has done nothing all season, does not deserve a place, even though I have been a fan of his in the past. Fornaroli - showed nothing in the international chances he has had so far, at 36 is well past his best. Duke - I can never understand what Arnold sees in him, surely it is time to get rid of him. Overall a disappointing squad, but not unexpected from Arnold who frustratingly is always conservative with his selections. Here was a chance to look at some more new players and get rid of some dead wood. Would have liked to have seen some or all of Nisbet, Arzani and Stamatolopolous at least be included in the squad. Also a quite unbalanced squad with not many midfielders and too many defenders (esp. right backs) and forwards. Works for Jordan Pickford for England Jordan Pickford is the modern day Peter Shilton isnt he? maybe 1/2 inch taller :P

The other yengi brother is getting more game time and scoring more than his brother even scored against celtic yet isn't picked. Also picking a 36 year old fornaroli over him aswell. They wonder why people lose faith in arnold
