+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xit is a small % of the general pop overall to me but 40k get to swans up here to the real G haha you see that. The other crowd I just checked and as I thought, the other day was a 8k of all places Syd Olympic park that is easy to get to... Mind you that is kind of AL crowd high. Alot of freebie ticks are always thrown out my mate tells me but AL does the same. People like getitng outside, not sure they are all right into afl just that its a day out, bit of a novalty to me. Still mate 40 k to a regualr season game is ALOT more than Storm get down ehre or Aleague in either town ... Whther its a novelty or not their marketing is working. They want a family friendly atmosphere and get it, Aleague doesnt know what it wants to be.... One day its "fish where the fish are", the other its star wars and pride rounds they other its ..."oh look at us we have safe standing and colourful smoke".... They could just concentrate on the football and let each club appeal to whatever type off fan represents them but they would have to break the franchise agreement I suppose first? The Sydney Derby got 30K in the A-League, which is run by the worst run sporting competition in the land, the APL, where there is no marketing, no looking after the fans, no future planning. Yet you get excited about 40K (first game in 6 months for this game) for the best run competition in this country. Maaaattte thats 1 game.... no worries you cant (or more likely refuse) to see my point... OK, nothing to see here all good. What is your point???? That AFL, despite being a hobby and not a sport being played anywhere else in the world, can manage to get very good exposure and attendances in "hostile" markets and yet Aleague (which pretends to represent the most popular sport on the globe) gets pitiful attendance and exposure.... 20 years now and no change in anything... perhaps time to make a change? OK I thought I'd regret asking, but as you said lets leave this here, your hatred knows no bound. Seems like your hatred is growing too Robbo, or is it only hatred when I say it? "The A-League struggles in Sydney, hardly any talk in pubs, cafes & work places. The Pubs even those near the stadium don't show the A-League." Quote by Robbo, Australian Soccer fan since 1974 and defender of the franchise system. Geez comprehension is not your friend. This is not hate, this is losing faith in the APL in running the competition. Dont worry my friend, you wont have to wait too long by the looks of things... Like I said this has been happening for the last 50 years. The football fans are there but the admin are failing it plus those with agendas. Admin has ALWAYS failed the sport here I 100% agree. And agendas too .... only difference is now the agendas are about foreigners making money, back then it was who was the most successful wog in the country.... Yet none of it helped football in this country. Mate the fact that both the NSL and Aleagues EXIST(ED) is the only reason we have a national football competiton in this country. that fact alone makes makes them "help football in this country" Shit admin and nepotistic leagues is no different than 90% of the rest of the world.... There isnt a hell of alot wrong with football here, just need to strengthen the poo of clubs and players and make them strive to be as professional as possible to provide as many playing, admin, coaching opportunities to as many Aussies as we can... all the rest (how much money foreign investors and venture capitalists make) is just bullshit who cares? Well Foreign investors also happened all around the world including some of the biggest leagues in the world. I don't really care foreign or local, what upsets me is when they line their own pockets, again this happens in this country in so many ways both local & foreign & few care about football in this country. If you accept shit admin & nepotism, nothing will change. Depends on what you want out of the game" mate. The best for the game in this country. Be a real footballing nation. What is your definition of a real footballing nation? I would say (not trying to bait you) that Portugal definitely is one wouldn't you? Their FA isnt exactly the paragon of financial virtue or respnsibility... Some of the lower club sides are very poorly run yet they have a culture around football that is enviable.... THATS what I mean. By a footballing nation I mean having a government supporting the sport (which has the highest participants, playing in the biggest sporting events the WCs, Olympics), an unbiased media & treating the sport with respect & not disrespecting it's fans & its culture which will then help them to appeal both Government & Private sponsorship. Pro/reg is something I have always wanted but in country so big but so sparse, but without the money from those afore mentionsed, it's impossible. So apart from Japan can you think of any other countries with your "wish list"? serious question because I cant. France, Germany, England, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Belgium, Brazil.

+x+x+xin a way i kind of like not being a football nation....imagine how nauseating we'd do football if the likes of eddie mcguire, that brayshaw wa nker who does the afl and cricket, or that boofhead who screams during the NRL Andy Harper? lol If only this guy was still around we’d be saved https://youtu.be/e28b4kePkH4?si=N7hK7qSgUE4uj56C haha good ol nrl dazza, was a heart attack listenning to him but a man from the street - actually a bogan pre CCM coastie MSC right into nrl. Used to give you migranes hearing him but his adrenaline was epic of the ol aussie way. I could stomach some of the bogan nrl commentators unlike the southern eggball ones who think they are great. Christ I luv how this thread hardly following its title LOL - very ethnic wog like no ? :) but it has a good feel about it amongst passionate football supporters, where's that group hug emoji.

Brits/anglos, never show you cry, or embarrassed for so many years not to sing your ANTHEM with passion ! You are not to show your emotions. I used to wonder as a young fella WTF, you were made out as if your soft cock here back in the day. Now I get it on the playing pitch back in our days, never show you got hurt in that tackle unlike today but regards to your flag, your country sing it loud, feckin cry I luv those feelings and the passion at games. That another early barrier the anglos no like of the ol sochka compared to the 2 codes mentioned incl union. NSL no like the wogs are OTT, then AL crowds going OTT again no like - any troubles the other codes media and commentators gang up on us. Sure I understand and support on the terrible behaviour need to be called out and punished but you know what I'm talking about. I'm a crier with pride depending the circumstance/moment - patriotism is fecked up here.

There's one clown in the EPL that's the worst and here that James Brayshaw clown makes watching the T20 unbearable. Every 6, and there's 4000 in T20, is like someone has just scored the 104th minute winner in the World cup final.

Not sure about Belgium to be honest but the other countries have to beg and plead for government assistance as much as we do... The fact that football is the main sport is to their benefit over ours sure, but its not all smiles and roses. Even in good old England the self proclaimed home of football, they constantly have issues with club finances, corruption, fan behaviours in lower levels etc etc.... we are NOT as unique as we think we are.
