But technically every league is a development league to England, Spain, Italy and Germany. No other league is going to win the champions league so that's where players aspire to play

It should always been this way its just that league initially spent time tried to be an destination league with marquee players and returning Socceroos and little emphasis on youth development but that wasn't going to last long when the global market starting to change through the Middle East, Asia and the US markets whom have got alot more money and clout than our league whilst the level of the national team started to go down over time with the lack of player production.

Now its alot different since COVID so I think they realise its only way this league can be sustainable and in a way could fit in the global market whilst making our national team competitive and strong as possible.
