Ron Lord,a great goalkeeper of the 1950s and 60s,has passed away .He was aged 94.He represented Australia at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and also played for the national team in other internationals and against touring club sides.He was not particularly tall but was strongly built and had huge hands.He was fearless under the high ball and was in command of his penalty area.He had been a good gymnast as a child and pulled off many acrobatic saves.
