robbie slater contrasted the prep for this tournament and arnie's
apparently 10 day camp with 2 warm up matches
It is a valid point

+xThat was the biggest bs red card of all time for Qatar at least it is reassurance they aren't facing favourable reffing all the time 3 headed goal and a long range goal after a high turnover. Remarkable how tight its been with so few goals from open play in the games involving our group

No surprise Indonesia beating South Korea right now. if we entered the game gauranteed to go through if we got a win it might have been different. Anyway Japan and south korea can't beat qatar and indonesia in normal time which is somewhat mitigating

Indonesia Sth Korea goes to pens. South Kores save to win but he was off his line. Retake converted. Indonesia save next and then miss their potentially winning pen.
Finally. Indonesia win 11:10 on penalties.

Well done Indonesia, it doesn’t make it any better for us but it shows how challenging our group was. And we had opportunities to do better so a missed opportunity for us to get out of the group considering the opposition. I hope for their sake they can qualify for the Olympics, it would be huge for their country.
It’s also interesting playing their u23 team at the senior Asian cup has paid off big time too.

No shame preparing for the future, I thought they did quite well in the senior Asian cup against us as the 4-0 scoreline was flattering.
I hope they qualify now, as others mentioned they need to finish in the top 3 otherwise they need to win the intercontinental playoff against Guinea to qualify.

Uzbekistan defeat Saudi Arabia 2:0. Uzbekistan hurt have a team blue print. They speak the same language. We have skill but unfortunately still come across as a bunch of individuals.

If anyone posting here wants more stats go into Grazor's thread on comprehensive background info for the Olyroos. Not all the passing stats have been quite completed. One might need a few more days for them to appear.
The shooting stats have appeared.
I've assiduously compiled stats for Aus's three games. It will be hard to believe it from fans reading this, bit Aus U23s dominated all three games everywhere except the scoreboard - which is very important!
