What a goal by Güler. 2:1. I think this tournaments touches the feels more because Germany was the most recent best tournament.

All the last world cups were done well and I enjoyed them but for the political and social issues. Euro 2012 went alright. 2016 felt slightly off. I think it's that this one is also post covid and people have been starved of it that it's going off.

Czech commentators: "if that noise in the background is coming through, that's the Portuguese commentators in the booth next to us. Only way to shut him up is to score a goal"

Portugal push and get rewarded. Poor Hranac with an own goal and a defensive brain snap. Trying the knee trap instead of just open foot clearing.

fuck this shit

Just cruel. I think Czech Rep can still win the two other games. An issue now is a buoyed Turkey. Just noticed more and more how these early wins are putting teams in decent potential 3rd placed fall back positions especially being the last team to play.

Yep you’d be gutted losing that one !
Czechs deserved at least the point - as my son said Port didn’t deserve even the draw.
Well played the Czechs most impressive stand.

I think the problem did exist. It was the broadcasters and pundits. If VAR didn't exist, watch them go on about this all the time.
Stephen King's 'Salem's Lot | Page 4 | The SuperHeroHype Forums

I don't really like how VAR is implemented at times, and most of these things (probably with the exception of GLT) - but it really is a scenario of "You reap what you sow"

Yeah some amazing strikes from outside the box this tournament... very tight deciding the goal of the tournament and weve only had one round.... :)

Arda Guler's goal was special, the fact that Real Madrid also have him speaks volumes on their talent ID but this kid is a special talent with a bright future.

Turkey vs Georgia so far has to be the game of the tournament, good football by both teams and the atmosphere in the stands was top notch.

Czechia would feel hard done by to not get least a point I dont think Portugal were that impressive, Czechia made it hard for them and found little solutions to break them down but Portugal have the quality to find a way to win it but they have to improve against the stronger sides you would think.

This tournament so far has been alot of fun, great games and great atmospheres looking forward to the next set of matches.

Germany need to host more tournaments in the future, the 2006 World Cup is still one of my favourite tournaments (excluding Australia's participation) its a great country with everything you need to make a great experience for the players and the fans.

FIFA selling out to the rich middle eastern countries doesn't feel right.

Loved the 2006 World Cup, even accounting for the fact Australia's participation, and is probably my favourite.
Brazil 2014 probably a close second for me, and even really enjoyed Russia 2018.

Will actively be watching Croatia v Albania - it's my mates last sporting leg of his Eurotrip (c)

Will be very interesting to hear of his experiences at that game, spoke volumes of the Albania fans, and one of his group is of Croatian descent (that's why they are at this game).

as some have mentioned its even better than the WC.
I supoose this POV can vary how many quality games you get to watch and one pass's judgement what you see whereas someone else sees games you don't.
This euro 12 played to date I've probably watched 9 between nodding off a few then wake back up with time left to play hahaha but each one has been great viewing !
Whereas some WC games due to its number of games you feel let down or disappointed.
This has been a quality Euro hands down, mind you I thought previous one was as well but when your team is winning sugar coast the whole tournament.

Christ some of you blokes have great memories, I struggle to recall anywhere as much as you guys re 06 mentions etc let alone just 5yrs back.
WTF you guys on lol :)

I was in Germany 2006, very very fond memories, that win (draw) over Croatia was my greatest experience of live sport.
Germans were great hosts & a footballing nation.

We were just speaking about this at the cafe this morning. The difference in the stands and vibe with Qatar is daylight

Geez, you didn't teach your son very well.

1. How to love & respect his mother & her heritage.
2. How to watch football, you have to play to the end. 74% possession to Portugal, 19 shots to 5. 13 corners to nil. 2 goals (though last minute) to 1.

Never upset Avo, no matter where he/she is!!!

As you know the Portuguese psyche has always been, why do something easy, when you can make it so difficult. Avo would've been having kittens like the rest of us until those last minutes.

Sure German hotels bumped prices but the range and affordability doesn't bear comparison to Qatar not to mention the Airbnb avenue. The geography is second to none. I'm sure France has a way of cheap alcohol but the German kiosk with a 2€ half litre bottle compared to a fancy French bar or rip of Doha hotel bar just can't compete. 2016 just felt a bit off. Wild policing, wake of terror attacks, and just, well, French. The worst part of the tournament so far? The weather hasn't been all too good but the cooler temps are great for the football itself I'd say.

well reported johnsz, FIFA got a lot to answer for but we know they dgaf but the $$$$'s, Cups in ME, increasing the WC NT's to 48 is all about the $$$$.
Even though I agree the take the game where it hasn't been or growth sectors the dollar goughing for the supporter base is beyound ridiculous.

Couple of friends are departing tomorrow from here to Munich - they set the trip up last year I think and got in the 1st ticket allocations list.
Damn got SF ticks for A$150 ea - got ticks to a couple more Grp games similar or bit above in 2nd allocation.
Compare to ME - unbelieveable.

Georgia has been the best quality game so far.
3.8 million population, football not the national sport but quality is very good.
Suspect FFA will follow their youth development.

Europe is funding the war not Chelsea football club

Just finished watching Georgia Turkiye. What a match. What a rowdy atmosphere. Had everything.

Great goals, near misses and dramas all over the park.

It may just be me but I've wanted to see a couple more underdog wins. Alot of teams I wanted to see get up have lost. Georgia, Hungary, Czechia, Scotland. The Slovakia game was fun.

Excluding Germany vs Scotland match, most have been quite close so the next two round of matches we could see some potential upsets.

I’ve been impressed with the quality of football especially from some of the underdogs so I would not rule anything out.
