+x+x+x+x+xHow will byes work with an uneven draw ?
If it’s a standard H/A season it works fine. But with 3 extra rounds would mean teams play more than others ? I did a little Chat GPT run, and it came to the conclusion that it can be done over 30 rounds (with 27 games played by each team) 1. I wouldn't trust News.com 2. the idea of 'rounds' is an unnecessary restriction 3. long weekends , School Holidays 'Festivals of football' etc all allow all kinds of jumbling of fixtures 4. Feel sorry for whoever isn't invited to the Unite Round Looks like CFG have heroically taken one for the team and now don't have to turn up that week Yeah this year is really testing me as a fan. Seems like nothing is going our way Wouldn't you say having the bye week on the Unite round is a good thing? I'd definitely prefer it if my club had their bye then. It means all of your home games will be played at your home ground. Seems like a good deal to me.

interesting drama just heard from a Red Army spokesperson earlier said APL are officially not waiting for ACL Elite and ACL Two draws to be held in two weeks time.
as ALM and ALW fixture release for 2024/25 season is due out tomorrow morning he said with time TBA and its two years in a row they've not waited for AFC club competition confirmed dates involving Australian clubs (which are Central Coast Mariners and Sydney FC).

If they clash, just reschedule. Happens with European/Cup schedules all the time. Main concern is this unbalanced fixture nonsense. Can't follow a league where you don't play twice H/A. It's just tacky as hell.

Given APL's current cashflow challenges, I wonder what it costs to reschedule I assume they have a deal with Airlines and Hotels, how much can they muck them about without costing more ? Also the hoohah with the broadcasting cost blowout this year. Who pays when this mucks up their schedule ?

Basically it's gonna be a rough season with the bye found, clubs having no money and the Paramount deal still going.
I'm hoping the season after we get: Canberra in to make it 14 teams, a new TV deal either YouTube or Stan and the clubs really trying to engage fans by trying different things

You will still have six games every week to watch on the telly. Be careful what you wish for re: the TV deal. Not many countries around the world show EVERY game live.

+xBasically it's gonna be a rough season with the bye found, clubs having no money and the Paramount deal still going. They seem to have been pretty clever with handling the bye rounds. Having the byes midweek and multiple clubs having bye rounds on the same day, means there isn't huge gaps between games. Example, Roar play on Jan 11th, then have a bye midweek (along with MV and MAC) on the 14th then play again on the 18th. As far as I can tell, the longest gap is 10 days. Obviously I'd prefer no byes, but the schedule could be much worse.

Just noticed they have also changed the FTA games. Now it will be both Saturday games 5pm and 7:35pm and no FTA on Sunday.

I just have flashbacks from under 12s when we had bye rounds hated not playing as a young lad. As the other bloke said they are trying to fit in with the Asian competition so see how it goes.
