This is what you get in this small tin pot league.
It’s just stooopid the lack of for site but this is the framchise owners insular kind of rhetoric.
More so the so called big clubs.

Poch to Chelsea - I guess the Premier League must be a small tin pot league...

hand it to you Sutho lol, the kids wouldn't even know of Busby but for the true eurosnobs who review history maybe.

someguyfc I think sums it up generally best, even though I quoted tin pot league and all at least it will stir up your Melb rivalry to a degree in this comsicomsa comp.
Needs anything it can to stir the pot, bucketman11 may make an appearance next season.
In a proper league like LaLiga despite its 2horse race the player transfers over the decades have been massive and made for great atmosphere those impending games.

This is where I get confused because we have NPL fans throwing dirt at a league fans but we all exist in the same universe so if a league is failing will that help with getting a second division or growing the Australia cup or making the socceroos stronger?

Don't understand it is all

"Same universe"???? WTF are you talking about mate?  What are NPL fans, or Aleague fans??? Most people I talk too are football club fans regardless of which league their club plays in....  You wont find an Aston Villa fan saying they are a "Europa League" fan for example they are a Villa fan....

As for a the APL "helping" a second division or growing the Australia Cup or making the national squads stronger ... no thanks, they are surplus to requirements.. They are "stand alone" by their very nature and clearly want to keep things that way... Some of the franchises may be forced to join the 99% of Australia football in the coming years as their ponzi scheme dries up and when they do they will be welcomed with a lot less animosity than they showed the rest of us.... until then, things are just fine the way the FA is setting them up.

Roar in me Blood - 25 Jun 2024 10:50 PM
I would have liked to see Kisnorbo at the Roar when we were looking for a manager. For now, we have Zadkovich and I am putting my hopes in him. Kisnorbo should be a good pickup for a club with money or reputation enough to bring the players needed like Victory. He has to prove himself from scratch since accolades for City are meaningless to Victory fans. I imagine they will watch him with great interest and an amount of scepticism until he does prove himself with them.

For me that would be true no matter who he is, where he has been or what he has achieved in the past. I don't get hung up on history. I care about what they are doing now. If he gets results with us, then awesome. Previous achievements are mostly meaningless. Popa is the perfect example of that. He won the ACL a decade ago and has achieved little since then. Sure it was a fantastic achievement at the time, but I don't care if a coach of my club won a trophy with another club 10 years ago. What he has done for my club is all that matters.

I'm not outraged either but the guy has always struck me as a twat faux hard man with his copycat Mike Tyson head shake on the sidelines and his passive aggressive attitude to Victory players after the game on some occasions .

Yeah I have a similar impression too which is why i'm not stoked we have him. Almost as unlikeable as Jamieson was haha.

Roar in me Blood - 25 Jun 2024 10:50 PM
A contract, unless it says "you can leave at any time if you say you want to", is a meaningless piece of paper (or digitech) in this league.

How can a manager walk away from a contract in this league to another club in the same league (Staj)? We have seen it far too often and it makes no business sense for someone on contract to one club to be able to move to an opposition club. I have no real problem with a manager giving up coaching, or going to a better league - but to allow a manager to go to a rival while under contract is just bloody disloyal and stupid in principle.

It is greed, not managers "making a living". Don't sign a bloody contract if you don't intend sticking to it.

I don't care about a manager recycling out of contract (Kisnorbo) - that is someone making a living. I do care about a manager recycling when they are still on contract. Loyalty to self is not loyalty.

I would have liked to see Kisnorbo at the Roar when we were looking for a manager. For now, we have Zadkovich and I am putting my hopes in him. I agree with the sentiment and feel it should work both ways if it does. Clubs are even quicker to drop contracted coaches when it suits them.

I wanted us to get Montgomery but he turned us down. I liked the idea of Jedinak but he turned us down. There isn't a better credentialed Aussie coach available. Foreign coaches have been more miss than hit. The only other alternative was to look at state league coaches, which would be brave but very risky. Kisnorbo doesn't sit well with me but I understand why we made the choice and I'm not outraged by it.

What are you talking about? They are people just trying to make a living. If they want to play/coach they need to go where the work is. Players and coaches don't want to move around. If a contract offer/extension isn't on the table, or if there is a better offer elsewhere they need to move on.

So the derby as fake as wwe is both teams don't hate each other in fact they probably holiday around the peninsula with their families. What a joke

At the end of the day, nobody cares as long as the team is winning. Same thing when we signed Bruno, most weren't happy but when he started scoring goals nobody cared where he had played previously.
That beings said, Kisborbo definitely has some work to do. He's got some solid players (Izzo, Arzani, Machach, Teague, to name a few), but will need to make some very good signings to replace the outgoing players. A good experienced central defender to replace Da Silva would be first priority on the shopping list. Easier said than done, given the current quality of Aussie defenders at the moment. May need to look overseas again. Then we need a striker. Don't mind if we keep Bruno on for another season, but we need someone younger. The main reason we didn't finish top last season was the lack of goal scorers. Given the likely reduction in grant money, there could also be budget restrictions to contend with.
