It's interesting to see how cities are being paired with different countries for events. Based on the trend, we could speculate that Melbourne might be a candidate for an event linked to India, given its large Indian community and cultural ties. Meanwhile, Sydney could potentially host games associated with the United States, considering its vibrant international connections and appeal. Ultimately, it will depend on the logistics and interests of the respective sporting bodies, but these pairings could certainly bring unique flavors to each city's event lineup.

Furthermore, as cities seek to establish their identities through international events, the integration of local entertainment options is becoming a priority. For instance, alongside sporting events, showcasing local attractions such as casinos and nightlife can enhance the overall experience for visitors. In Melbourne, engaging spaces that provide diverse entertainment options could elevate the event atmosphere. This is probably the most diverse I’ve ever seen a stretch of Socceroos home games. We will have a 4-home-game-stretch of Canberra > Perth > Gold Coast > Adelaide.

Bookended by Melb then Syd to start the 2026 qualifying campaign and perhaps Sydney/Sydney/Melbourne or Melbourne/Sydney/Sydney in Nov/Mar/June ends up being a reasonable spread over the 9 home games.

Hopefully the November (vs Saudi) venue is announced before the September qualifier is played and March (Indo) and June (Japan) venues prior to the end of 2024.

As it should be. Sydney gets all the massive matches. It's only positive that other places get the minor qualifiers or friendlies.

I was wondering where you were getting Canberra from, but then realised you were counting into the past games haha.

But.. interestingly a very close stretch to the post Asian Cup 2015 run of home games (Perth > Canberra > Adelaide > Sydney)
