The principle they are fighting over highlights the huge amount of pressure on players to not play for their country if their club does not want it.

Who wins in a "league over country" battle? The money would generally be with the leagues and club football as far as I see it - but FIFA has always been transparent enough for everyone to see the corruption and inequality in their decision making.

That said, the only way FIFA can operate is to make decisions. They could never get full agreement across the globe on anything other than the general shape of the ball being roundish so I can't see how the leagues really expect anything different. A window of opportunity to make submissions for the level of consideration that goes into competing World Cup bids would be the only thing FIFA could operate with but no-one would be fool enough to think they were actually receiving reasonable consideration if they opposed FIFA's proposals.

When I wear their colours, I am the club.

What’s most important? Club World Cup, regular league season, World Cup, Euros, Champions and Europa leagues??!
one approach by clubs could be to have higher squad rotation to cope with busier match schedules. Would give up and coming players more opportunities at least

I don't blame the top ends Clubs moaning away for FIFA is milking the game for all it can.....
The Club WC is OTT, we already have CL/Europa confirming 2 levels of Club status why introduce more let alone there's also the Conference League below those 2..
Even the current CWC is ridiculous.

The WCup expanded is another moneyball excercise.

Player burn out is already been going on and Clubs don't have the resource they expect to keep clipping the ticket.

Plus when is too much too much, Euro/Copa recently finished and leagues commence in 2wks time let alone some in a week.

Cricket was one sport that cooked their goose imo doing similar, before you knew it another tournament starting when another just finished.
It actually turned me off the game, far too much exposure.
