After watching tonights game on Fox Sports and listening to the awful call by one A Harper and M Cockerill. The following reasons why each person was put on the list.

Robbie Slatter - Biased and Fox Sports version of Craig Foster

Ross Aloisi - Has the match calling skills of a gold fish. He is dull and boring and only picks out players faults and never gives praise.

Andy Harper - Babels shit all game and just says the dumbest things . For instance in tonights call he said * there is two players making the striker Cairncross and Van Dijk*. How can a player mark himself?

Paul Trimboli - Sounds like a kid with asthma getting over excited about everything.

Mike Cockerill - He is very biased toward Sydney FC and is always blowing Kossies trumpet.

I voted Andy Harper. Sounds like a strangled chipmunk and tries to make himself sound smarter by taking the long way round with every fucking sentence. He says in 20 words what the average person could say in 3. He says abstract bullshit that the average person could not comprehend. His phrases are atrocious and he uses them almost every sentence. He sits at home all week reading a thesaurus and brings every new words he finds into the studio with him. He tries to recite all these words which he has conveniently jotted down in his pink notebook with his pink crayon. He shits me to tears. Hes got the worst voice ever and hes a skinhead.

Robbie Slater is just an airhead. He makes stupid points, never criticises anyone and waffles on until hes dug himself a big enough hole to bury himself in.




Paul Trimboli, Brenton Speed and Simon Hill are the only respectable commentators. Michael Zappone should get a commentary gig too instead of being a sideline reporter.

Trimmers, what a legend. It's funny the way he nearly suffocates towards the end of each breath. He must always forget to take his ritalin and his asthma meds.

Which one's the worst? Never thought about it TBH, the thought of mentally trawling through all that crap is enough to put me off it.

i had to give slater a vote. i do agree that ross aloisi is shocking though, but slater cant get away with it either.

the best two have got to be trimmers and hill.

i think the Aloisi family are just shit at anything they do....but worst football commentator for me would have to be David basheer, where in many of his games Ive actually fallen asleep

Andy Harper is an ear jackhammer. Paul Trimboli can't handl the amount of words he splurts out. I actually think Robbie Slater and Simon Hill are half descent, and I think MK is a quite good commentator. Ross Aloisi has the worst voice in the history of mankind and goes off topic way too much. My vote goes to Andy Harper.

I can't truely seperate them, but I'm going to have to go Harper over Alosi because Alosi isn't on as much from what I've seen. Harper strangles every sentence he speaks (he must be really bad because he never gets them right even in pre-recorded parts), Alosi simply parrots what the main commentator is saying and is horrific.

Im thinking Aloisi is just a flash in the pan. He'll be off air soon enough. Hopefully.

I dont think so. He used to just commentate on NZ games, but the other week he was on a non-nz game for the first time. Branching out

Simon Hill always looks like a dis-interested hobo pulled in off the street and dressed in a suit to look stare sadly at the camera. That said, he's one of the best they've got. Harper, Slater and Aloisi are all fucking TERRIBLE. And I can't really separate them. So I'm not voting.

Simon Hill isn't bad. But the bald geezer is terrible. Those guys wouldn't know if the world exploded. In all fairness they are as thick as Pigs hit turned over.

Hill doesn't seem to like hosting, much prefers commentating.

The kiwi commentators are clearly the worst - absolutely no comparison to any of the others listed above.

Kimon should have been in there, he would have had a few votes. His soft girls voice would be better used for selling Tupperwear to housewives.

This may sound shallow, but all of thier faces would be more suited for Radio.
Anyone thinking about switching codes would switch over to Fox FC and see Bug eye Cockran, Cromedomes slater, and harper trying to slot in their pick of the day thesaurus words and switch straight back to AFL or Rugby Footyshow they where watching before.

We need to get somone with a personality and don't look like somone that would hand lollies in schoolyards.

Simon Hill and Spencer Prior are passable.

They are on Faux Sports because no one else would let them near a microphone and everyone with an ounce of ability would have cost too much. Expect to see more Ross Aloisis hitting the airwaves as they retire.

Least they have Mel McGlaughlin right. They should do a few more sideline crosses when shes doing that duty.

Damn! They should take away the desk and have her sit on a stool or something. We're missing out on a lot.

The Harper hate is a shame. I really enjoy him as a character.

Interesting to read all the Ross Aloisi hate from years back. He's by far the most insightful people in terms of football analysis and breakdown that fox has had. Yes he doesn't have the personality for TV, but anyone who loves football (particularly the tactical and analysing side) should be interested in what he has to say. Basically, he ought to be a panelist.

I used to hate him but as he's calmed down behind the mic, I've learnt to enjoy what he has to say. Definately one of the most knowledgeable fellas in Australian football and has a passion for the games history. I really want to see him write more on earlier post-war footballs history.

I miss his harperisms. Really never got the hate. Thought it was very immature tbh. Bloke had a very decent vocab.

See, I get that he is knowledgeable, but that nasal, high pitched voice in conjunction with the ludicrous shit like "a spawning salmon" and his use of some high level post grad vocab that just doesn't fit football is just not what a commentator should be saying imo. That stuff is on par with "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!".
