Agree. Although I don't wear club colours to games, both my kids do and it took my daughter half the season to save up for her (soon to be redundant) shirt.

Maybe it is a combination of money making and shedding the reminders of the Edwards era?

I'm hoping its just minor updates. Like changing the (controversial) three-quarters collar.

That's interesting, I thought the rule was home kits could only change every second season (unless change of manufacturer)? I'm a big fan of the current one.

Wouldn't mind a black and gold away kit (just not that god awful design from last season), although a separate kit for the cup is taking the absolute piss, will get worn about twice.

Received membership stuff in the mail today. Shows last season's home shirt as the 2014-15 shirt with the away shirt to be announced. Also still trying to flog off that awful black and gold "People's Kit" at full price.

So minutes of Supporters Committee meeting may not be correct. They were pretty disorganised and not very well written so it wouldn't be a surprise if they weren't clear.

ACM or... #9 Striker?

We have Nicholls, Marinkovic, Garcia and DDS all likely to play some time at ACM, even tho' I would prefer to see Nicholls at #8 and Marinkovic hasn't really demanded the ball/shown that much run, and so I think Kenny won't give him much time. However, Hersi wants to play there too.

As far as our strikers go, they are all 'second striker/winger' type players (as are most of our players who aren't defensive mids or defenders), Keogh, Maclaren (Sidnei, Garcia, Harold), so the squad is crying out for a target option for all the ball we are going to try to cross in from the wings.

Unless Kenny is going to get all sophisticated and play a false #9 and tiki taka our way to Glory.....? Nah, target man it is.

Just want to state that I am not a Perth fan but I can't help but notice how much they have improved in the offseason.

The way I see it is that these are their ins compared to their outs:
Zadkovic > burns
Djulbic > gallas
Hersi > Ryan Edwards
Nichols > McGarry
Garcia > sernas

Ferreira being a decent squadie, and keogh being an unknown quantity but sounds the goods.
Only player worth noting that was lost was smeltz, but he was injured much of most season anyway and didn't do much when fit.

Essentially I think they have improved immensely on all theirs outs.
And another point:
Sernas, marinkovic, Jamieson, risdon, gallas, vuka, Edwards, griffiths to name a few - didn't play full seasons.
So there is so much positives to look forward to this season as a glory fan. I can't believe they have added so much talent all within the cap.... Makes you wonder just how little they were using . (Consider that they are now paying an extra 2 players in the cap as well,... Without gallas and smeltz)

With 1 spot remaining, I agree with glory B.
Keogh, MacLaren, sidnei, hersi, Garcia, harold essentially all play the wing role. They have an abundance of talent there.
De silva, marinkovic and nicholls are competing for the playmaker role, with the potential that one may be squeezed to compete elsewhere in the middle.
Bottom line is... They need a different option going forward.... And please let it be true that if it isn't bulut that it is an out and out striker.
Because this is the best looking glory team I think anyone has seen. And they aren't old players like people whinge.... Difference between experience and has beens.

If they don't go a striker, they should add another defender in the mix for competition/cover.

I agree and echo your sentiments - this my feeling too. Alot of potential, a truly more quality and potentially balanced squad we've seen? Garcia can be seen as part of the ST rotation too and alot may well ride on Keogh and how he delivers - but I somehow feel that he will. The one main reservation remains Lowe in all this. Burns, McGarry, Smeltz and co had to go - anybody could see that. The replacements by and large are certainly equal, if not improving in that regard.

The only issue could be perhaps too much competition in the club, with good players lacking game time. The likes of De Silva and Nichols are only loanees - but the curious thing is that should see Nichols guaranteed more game-time, while in De Silva's case, the prospects continue to look grim, in that regard? :(

But again, will be interesting to see where this team/squad and Lowe, will be at, come Dec/Jan. As we've seen as that's been the usual time of the year, especially for Glory, when the mid-season changes are rung through. And the stage will be set for similar here - but the circumstances may not have to be as negative this time?

Yep, quality post above. The real asset with Garcia is that he can play anywhere except across the back 4 and look good in that position. He played DM for heart for a while and scored goals for Sydney in more attacking positions. I really think he's a handy signing. The Zad doubters will be proven wrong I think when they see how he fits in with the players around him. He will do what Clina used to do, and offer himself as an option to any player on the pitch at anytime, which requires unbelievable fitness!

Yeah 100% only real doubt seems to be on Lowe.... Actually cannot see how he kept his job.
Remember reading an article by Dave davutovic backing him up though.
Hope de silva gets a real shot and MacLaren is a regular impact sub.
Mint stadium on tv up in Perth so I hope they get going and fill it up.

For all the positive signings the Glory have made this season, they got the biggest one wrong: Lowe.

Perth Glory fans will get their first chance to see most of the club's new recruits in action during tonight's pre-season friendly match against Inglewood United at Intiga Stadium.

Coach Kenny Lowe has brought in eight new faces, including Republic of Ireland striker Andy Keogh.

Proven A-League players Richard Garcia, Youssouf Hersi, Dino Djulbic, Diogo Ferreira and Mitch Nichols are all likely to make their first appearances.

Former Newcastle Jets captain Ruben Zadkovich (overseas) and keeper Jordan Thurtell (Young Socceroos) are unavailable.

Young guns Daniel De Silva and Riley Woodcock are on tour with Thurtell in the US, while Matt Davies and Cameron Edwards (knee injuries) are out for at least another month.

Left-back Scott Jamieson will play his first match in eight months after an Achilles injury, while goalkeeper Danny Vukovic returns after a loan spell.

Lowe said he would adopt a cautious approach for tonight's fixture ahead of Glory's first competitive match of the new season - a first-round FFA Cup tie away to Newcastle on August 5.

"We'll have almost a full squad but maybe some people will be on limited game time," Lowe said.

Glory and Inglewood will compete for the Siggy Kramer Memorial Cup, named in honour of the long-time Inglewood servant who died last week.

Lowe said it was important to honour Kramer's contribution.

You have to collect the actual pack itself (hat/scarf what ever else you get) from the ground within the first 3 games.

Only downside is no fridge magnet but they did mention that is because the fixtures were being changed around.

Sorry - by pack I meant other bits with the card - ie. discounts, the letter and pamphlets and whatnot.

The actual pack with the scarf and other bits and pieces has to be redeemed at any of the first 3 home games

Copied from the Glory Report.
A number of the signings not listed here, but still, we're off to a flyer ...

Perth Glory’s rejuvenated squad had their first pre-season hit-out against National Premier League side, Inglewood United, overnight to compete for the inaugural Kramer Memorial Cup, in memory of the WA Footballing legend, Siggy Kramer, who sadly passed away last week.

The game proved competitive early on with the Glory moving the ball wide and with pace, although possession didn't seem the key to winning for Inglewood United.

United showed their counter attacking intention early on with, Abdul Sesay, down the left taking the first shot of the match, wide right of Jack Duncan’s net.

United’s threat proved real not too soon after, with the opening goal of the game from recognized NPLWA goal scorer, Ryan Clarke.

The local league target man demonstrating his worth with a cool finish to Duncan’s right and finding the bottom corner of the goal and the lead for Inglewood.

Glory saw this as a sign and immediately stepped their game up a gear, but it wasn't until just over 15 minutes later that the sides drew level.

New recruit, Andy Keogh, found space on the right and looked to be heading toward goal, but was cut down close to the corner flag to give Glory a free kick in a prime position.

Verified dead ball specialist, Nebo Markinkovic’s, free kick was cleared by the Inglewood defence, only to be picked up by Michael Thwaite, who after beaingt the out coming United defence, struck the ball low across goal, finding new Glory striker, Keogh, for an easy tap in to level the score.

FIRST HALF SQUAD: 18. Jack DUNCAN, 19. Josh RISDON, 6. Dino DJULBIC, 23. Michael THWAITE, 21. Scott JAMIESON, 3. Brandon O’NEILL, 13. Diogo FERREIRA, 11. Richard GARCIA, 10. Nebojsa MARINKOVIC, 9. Andy KEOGH, 16. Sidnei SCIOLA.

With an injection of youth, the second half gave game time to eight of the Glory’s NPLWA squad members, including youth international representatives Rocco Pizzata and Matthew Ntoumenopolous.
The second half also gave time to fan favourite, Jamie Maclaren, who caused an NPL stir last time he played at Intiga Stadium.

Maclaren burst onto the field with a shot within the first minute.

Again, just five minutes later, Maclaren, found himself one on one with Inglewood keeper, Luke Martino, but pulled his shot just wide of the goal. (Wow, isn't that a rarity?)

With neither side being able to break the deadlock the game went straight to a penalty shoot-out. NPLWA and National Youth League Captain, Blamo Qua Qua had his deciding penalty saved by Inglewood substitute keeper, Jake Lurk, giving Inglewood the win and the Kramer Memorial Cup.

Inglewood United: 1 ( Ryan CLARKE 11’)
Perth Glory: 1 ( Andy KEOGH 28’)
Penalties: Inglewood 4-3 Perth Glory

Inglewood: 1. Luke MARTIN, 5. Scott BLACKMORE, 6. Ryan FRANCIS, 8. David PERICH, 9. Ryan CLARKE, 10. Greg SHARLAND, 11. David SESAY, 15. Abdul SESAY, 18. Jason COLLI, 20. Teeboy KAMARA, 23. Andrija JUKIC, 20. Jake LUIK, 16. Sean BROWNE, 17. Dario PAVIC, 19. Jaedon EWEN, 21. Josh DEMARTE, 12. Hayden DODGSON.

Perth Glory (Second-Half): 18. Jack DUNCAN, 29. Joshua TUCKER, 25. Rocco PIZZATA, 2. Jack CLISBY, 20. Hanafi GHAZALI, 6. Jacob COLLARD, 28. Blamo QUA QUA, 35. Slob VULIN, 15. Jaime MACLAREN, 17. Chris HAROLD, 7. Matthew NTOUMENOPOLOUS, 27. Joe KNOWLES.
