Was that guy Joe Knowles from last year's yoof team any prospect? No idea about him, where he's from or if still about, but his name always seemed to be on the scoresheet each week for them.

Juric is rubbish , Glory have already got a better quality striker in Harold, but he is also the only decent winger as well.

As predicted Bobby Despotovski has been appointed coach of the W-League with Collette McCallum as assistant coach. Although McCallum's appointment lessens the impact a bit, I wouldn't be surprised to see a weaker squad and at least one or two internal issues arising from Bobby's management style.

Incidently, WA lad Eli Babalj is available and he would be a good replacement for Keogh and well within the cap too! He well fulfils the new club philosophy to bring back some of that great WA talent we/NTS has produced and he has the capability to do quite well and push back into the wider NT fold again. He showed glimpses at Heart and that's how he earnt the AZ move in the first place - he could be a good value pick up and have good on-sell value, not unlike Juric, if he does find some form here. Almost perfect for Glory's needs infact. Would be great to see him AND Ruka in Glory's team. A front trio with Harold would be electric and flexible, with big Babalj a strong hold up and aerial threat too, though he's also reasonable on the ball. biscuitman1871 wrote:As predicted Bobby Despotovski has been appointed coach of the W-League with Collette McCallum as assistant coach.

But yes agree would love to see him in a Glory strip

^Well, just taking them on face-value, post-Edwards departure, that's what CEO Brewer and co were saying, they wanted to retain that aspect of his regime. Maybe they were token statements and evidently so since, but with the scandal and Lowe's recruiting of some good young West Aussie talent like Grant and Oxborrow so far this season, aswell as playing DDS last season, I think there's a greater chance than certainly before that such talents would be given a look at and would be drawn back here?

Just being open minded and optimistic - still alot of signings to be had? And as Biscuitman has said before the only one of those young players we may miss or who Glory might've been better off hanging onto, was Woodcock IMHO.
Lowe had enough time to give all those young boys a good look over and they all saw a reasonable opportunities with the first team at varying points. So it's not like they never got a chance? Meanwhile, Oxborrow, Grant and some other potential signings could be potential upgrades?
The Marc Warren talk isn't very promising though. :/

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/a/29071863/glory-eye-rukavytsya-to-replace-keogh/Glory targets to replace Keogh: a) Ruka b) Taggart on loan c) Some mystery Serbian guy What about replacement for Maclarren? We need to sign 2 strikers and probably a winger too to replace Hersi and give depth for Harold/Sidnei. If we are playing 442 still would love a Juric Taggart partnership. No way it will happen...will be a backwards step for both players.

My ideal would be Juric and Harold with Ruka playing out wide. Trouble is Ruka doesn't offer much defensively in transition same as Sidnei. That's why Garcia keeps getting so much game time.

Yeah I was thinking Juric to replace Keogh to hold it up for Taggart who would be the replacement for Maclarren. No point in hypotheticals that won't happen though. Seems like the likelihood is that we will be welcoming Ruka and the mystery Serbian. And is Ruka only more of a winger these days because that's how clubs have utilised him? I wouldn't mind seeing how he would go as a second striker in a 442, might do well as a replacement for Maclarren with another striker like Keogh/Juric. Could also switch with Harold.
