Sikora, Sterjovski, Dadi, Pellegrino, Burns - Im sorta jealous.
Sterj will get the golden boot btw. Fuck. This time last season you were signing state league players.

I forgot Jelic. I just had a look at him on the net 5 minutes ago. Theres a picture of him skinning Philipp Lahm. Thats positive.
How will you line up?
-----------Dadi--Jelic---------------
--Sikora------------------Sterjovski- ---------Burns-----Pellegrino--------- -Coyne-----------------------Downey--- ----------Harnwell--Todd-------------- --------------Velaphi------------------
?? You need a left back. Perhaps drop Pelle out of CM over onto left mid. Put Coyne or Shroj in the middle. Sikora/Downey at left and right full-back. A back 3 is even tempting.

I think Shroj is a better cm than Pelle as he struggled there for us last year until he was put out on the wide right, so I think he will drop to the bench and come on with a rotation with the strikers pushing Mile up front for the last part of games.

The great thing about Sterj is he is smart and when the ball is going down the left side he heads to the far post and acts like a 3rd striker, as good as Pelle was for us last year he predominatly stays wide. What a team we have now, now we we need another CB and a LB and we are set.

It's hard to know, Dadi is a talisman, but Pelle was MGP last year and would be unfair for him to make way, so I think Mitch will start with this:
---------Jelic--Sterjovski---------- --Sikora------------------Pellegrino- ---------Burns-----Shroj--------- --Naum-----------------------Coyne--- ----------Harnwell--Todd-------------- --------------Velaphi-----------------
Vrteski, Dadi, Neville, Downey, Jukic
Probably am completely wrong though lol

the 3-4-3 sounds like the better option ... especially being able to fit everyone in ....but to risky i think.
I say 4-4-2 is the best bet.
Jelic and Dadi up front, and maybe just swap shroj for sterjovski and try him right centre mid?

there's no way Mitch will play anything other than 442 in the early stages.
some other considerations: Dadi and Jelic up front will be to slow 3 at the back will leave us very exposed, Harnwell & Todd are hardly blessed with pace Mitch isn't scared to drop Dadi Pelle wasn't that convincing in the centre, but Sterj is an effective right winger
no doubt we'll see some shuffling in the preseason

Mitchell has previously stated that Sterj is a more experienced version of Nikita. that makes it sound as if he wants him for striker to me.

YEH!! This season should be wicked!
=d> \:d/ =d> \:d/ =d> \:d/ =d> \:d/ =d> \:d/
DA DA DA DA DA DA DA (to the tune of chelsea dagger)
My Formation:
-------Dadi-------Sterjovski------- ------------Jelic------------------ Sikora-------------Pellegrino------ ------------Burns------------------ Seveloski---Harnwell------Coyne---- -------------Todd------------------ -----------Velaphi-----------------
442 with attacking and defensive midfielders.
I'm predicting we'll score over 3 goals per game, just gotta be more than we let in!!!!
For entertainment this year, watch Perth!!!

No offence to Naum, but Sekulovski is looking pretty out of place in these line ups now.
We still have one VISA spot free - let's use that on a good LB/LWB - someone who can combined and overlap well with Sikora. Victory picked up that Sukha fellow, we should be able to find someone of that standard, or like Cassio? Mitch spent quite some time in Europe, so surely he chatted to a LB or two.
I wonder what Steffanuto's contractual situation is? :o Maybe another Aussie expat option may be Shane Cansdell-Sheriff who's currently based in England's League Two? He still has 1 year left on his contract though. Simon Storey is available, but he's not interested in returning to the A-League, just yet.
And hopefully we get Coyne - we'd have the strongest Central Defence in the country and super sub Harnwell, will be just super, as always. And with our LB problem, we could always, as captainpoo suggested, go back 3, with Coyne, Todd and Harnwell? But I suppose history says he doesn't favour that?
And yeah, Mitch has been quoted saying he sees Sterjovski as a straight replacement for Nikita. But will Dadi and Jelic be rotated then? Jelic as we've discussed before, might be capable of playing 'in the hole,' behind Sterj and Dadi? But we simply don't know what kind of player Jelic is - if he's capable of that. We may not go for an AM anyway, as we have Burns and Srhoj in the middle of the park there, as part of that 4-4-2 formation.

According to Mitchell Seveloski's mr. versitile. I reckon he played alright a left back and with experience will get even better.

But is it a waste to put him all the way up front? YEah I'd think so, seeings we have Jelic up there too. Might be nice to spread the talent/experience around a bit. Though Sterjovski would be taking Pelle's place if he played wide right. Sterj could perhaps play behind the front two, but his strengths don't lay in that area I think and he might feel crammed for space. Then again that could be very effective, a front triangle of Dadi and Jelic, with Sterj behind. AHHHHH Could Sterj play more of a free role, ala Kewell? Sure he's no Kewell but this is the A-League and Sterj can be effective out wide and running into space. With Sterj floating about, we could have Jelic and Dadi on the park, with Sterj interlinking with them Sikora and Pelle. I suppose that'd still make him an AM anyway, but he doesn't have to be limited to any part of the field and he can use more space, which his style of play seems to prefer?

The only issue with that is you need to ensure that Pele and Sikora do a lot of defensive work, because Sterj in a free role might mean easy cuts through the centre of the park for opposing teams (at least until they get to Jacob). I think the main thing here is no matter where we play Sterj, one of these guys will be starting on the bench: *Dadi *Jelic *Sikora *Pele *Srhoj That's a pretty good situation to be in (and FWIW, my bet is on Dadi or Srhoj starting on the pine, depending if he plays as an out and out striker or not).
