yeah, but tain't no tang man!
be good if you make it to the presser, you always provide a much better and honest take on things than the usual media outlets.
anyways, what a nice suprise. Up working late and thought I'd do a quick round of the forums before bed and I get to read that we have finally signed a marquee!

Wow, good to see. I think that works out to $666k a season. :p
Hopefully we can sort out that Coyne scenario and get a good VISA boy for LB and then we're set.

Quote:Sterjovski to be Glory's $2m man June 11, 2009 SOCCEROOS utility Mile Sterjovski, who got a rare start in last night's World Cup qualifier against Bahrain, is set to be unveiled as Perth Glory's new marquee player tomorrow.
Sterjovski is believed to have agreed to a $2 million, three-year, contract after months of talks with a host of A-League clubs, including Gold Coast United and Central Coast Mariners. Sterjovski has spent almost a decade in Europe, including spells in France and Switzerland, but struggled for game time with his latest club, Derby County, and was told at the end of the recent English season he was free to find a new club.
The move to Perth will reunite him with David Mitchell, who was his coach when he broke through into the old NSL with Sydney United and Parramatta Power. http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/football/a-league/sterjovski-to-be-glorys-2m-man/2009/06/10/1244313187024.html

Quote:Former Perth Glory coach Steve McMahon is part of a Singapore-based consortium linked with a bid to buy out Newcastle United.
McMahon, who enjoyed a successful career in England with Liverpool, is commercial director for the Profitable Group, which the BBC says it looking at making a bid for the club.
Newcastle owner Mike Astley has put the club up for sale for £100m ($A203.55 million) after they were relegated from the Premier League last month.

It sounds like Perth will confirm Sterjovski today. However, no presser in Perth but a released statement ... I think .. just had a chat to the Glory media guy who couldn't confirm anythine except that a statement will be released later today.

Fantastic news. Another returning 'current' Socceroo and an attacking one at that.
Surely will be a star in the A-League.

if we cant make it in a 6 team finals theres definately something wrong buddy. our squad is very nice on paper. tab has us at the furthest outsiders to win it all, id be willing to put some good money on that now.

Says it all really.... Nah im only playing with ya, great job your club has done, and i believe that the only thing stopping you guys making the final would be injuries. Surely now finals are a certainty. and not just that. how many more fans will 2 socceroos net us do you think ? hopefully we can get a bunch like that adelaide game last year with something like 12 thousand. i mean if were winning games why not ? i know the most troubling thing in getting my mates to the games is the fact we lose. they still love the atmosphere and that jazz. and thats the atmosphere with a miserly crowd of 8k. i pray to god we get good crowds anyway. depending on how we go early in the season i might delay my travel plans so i can see us in the finals. thats how big this would be for me hahahaha.

good old tribal football hey for getting that one early. i guess they couldnt reveal their source for the chance it might jepodise future tip offs, that or they pulled it out their ass haha. anyway as it stands we are a top 4 team now, if we snag coyne or another quality defender that makes us grand finalists and perhaps even champions. im going to have a drink on mitch & tonys behalf this weekend they have a done a wonderful job this offseason.
