We really need someone to make a new Perth Glory forum, one that is moderated to keep the flamers out, one that has more subforums and more features.

Perhaps a tad optimistic to say done by then, but it is supposed to be completed by the 23rd which is the first force home game.

So maybe not done by the 2nd, but as you can see some seats are being put in, if there could be 15k seats in by march 2nd (another 4k) then it could have a great atmosphere.

Was just curious - IF glory under Edwards, Naven and co ARE going to undertake a local revolution of sorts, or atleast, seek a couple more local talents to replace some squad departures, who would there be and for what positions?

With Glory's troubles upfront, as in lack of depth and Smeltz likely to leave, ontop of Mehmet - who locally could we seek, for squad depth and to push Makeche, Cordoba and any new VISA recruit upfront?

This guy seems a standout: Gustavo Giron-Marulanda

It's not clear to me if he's actually a Colombian, or just has Colombian background and is an Aussie citizen?

But either way he seems a hot, leading talent upfront in the WA State League and it may be worth glory giving him a shot?


Heck, wider terms, Edwards and Naven SHOULD do 'A Poppa' and during early pre-season do an extended camp perusing all the leading local stars, young and old, with a view to recruiting 2-3 for the 2013-14 season. Poppa did this with Wanderers, hence the signing of West Sydney State League local, Jason Trifiro and West Sydney based Joey Gibbs.

I guess Poppa had the advantage of building a team from scratch, but Glory are clearly undergoing a revamp, semi-clear out and so there will be plenty spots free, including 1-2 VISA ones, to trial many players in that early to mid pre-season period, both local talents and those from overseas.

Gustavo is Colombian, and has been training with the Glory for some time. So he is certainly on the radar.

Yeah you'd think they'd have given the guy a 6-game guest contract instead of looking overseas for an unfit 18 year old.

I think he's a few years away from being naturalised as well. At least 2

It is possible, it is scheduled to be completed in March and so far everything has run ahead of schedule, i have a feeling we will just miss it though for the Sydney game.

That looks pretty good. Shame it's ht eForce who benefit from it most, but I guess they get the bigger crowds.

Hopefully the new stand is not a white elephant, it is the skin cancer side of the ground at 3-4pm

Its more than likely Glory will play in the evenings (7pm between December and February), or early evenings (5pm onwards in March) to stop people getting skin cancer

Although! the sunny side of the ground is usually where the camera is facing anyway in most football grounds in the world.

Gosford, Sydney FC etc etc. Except they get cloudy days in those parts of the world

We're 3 points behind Brisbane, with 4 games to go, our next few games are against Newcastle(away), Wellington(home), Victory(away) and Adelaide(home). Brisbane have Victory(home), Central Coast(away), Heart(home) and Sydney(home).

Sydney are also 2 points ahead but have a much harder run home.

An ugly log jam on the table, from 3rd, all the way to 10th

Its more than likely Brisbane Roar will qualify (they were last year's champions, and I back finals experience will get them over the line), but the vulnerable spot is Newcastle's.

Us, Sydney FC, Melbourne Heart and the Jets are fighting for that one spot

We have Newcastle next week, a game we can not lose.

Quite frankly, all 4 remaining games are games we can not lose. Could go as far to say they are games we must win. Big big challenge to make the 6 from where we slumped to.

Can't wait to see who Edwards goes for in the off season.

I know that 2 of these 3 are under contract elsewhere, but I'd love to see us sign Gameiro, Matty Simon and Billy Celeski. Keeping Nagai would be fantastic too! Two others that are pipe dreams are Patty Kisnorbo and Suree Sukha, the Thai RB/RM, he's an absolute machine!

Matty hasn't had a look in at Chunnum, Gamerio will likely be released at the end of the season, and if Billy was available, I reckon a nice little pay rise might convince him to come back.

Some strong options then even if we lose Smeltz and Burns retires.
