WGMG: Being too scared to go after what I want, yet still being disappointed when I inevitably don't get it.

Would have been virtually impossible to do that at my lecture. We're in a 1,000+ seat lecture theatre :lol:.

Issues been resolved. They've been having "technical difficulties" getting the stuff onto the internal student website. They've only had a Uni break of 7 weeks to get it ready. :roll: Apparently it should be fine withn 24-36 hours.

In my case it was a stubborn semi-retired old engineer who still insisted that everything should be done by hand. His main argument was that he was discouraging attendance and encouraged plagiarism by putting the information on the website.
He was probably the best lecturer I've had because he went through everything in more depth by writing it up on the board and allowing us time to absorb the information rather than quickly flicking through a billion vague slides.

Surely couldn't happen, since everything is done through computers these days. All you're assignments, information, etc.

Checking it out today, perhaps they've been lazy and not put it up yet.

Maybe the subject has a coordinator who doesn't use computers. I've had several subjects at my uni that didn't register on my page during the semester because of that.

WGMG: One of my units that I enrolled in at Uni this semester isn't coming up on my UWS page. Yet when I click on enrollments, it says I've enrolled and I've got classes for it.

Yeah, it was worthwhile knowing, Still never a happy situation though.

There's nothing to say you necessarily got the wrong impression. Just because she has a boyfriend who she's not going to cheat on doesn't mean that she wasn't into you.

And fair play to the girl for telling you she's spoken for rather than stringing you along for free drinks all night, making you think you're in and then ditching you. It gives you a chance to "pick another target" so to speak.

Zero problems with friendzone, but this particular one bugged me. Totally got the wrong impression.

I'm so glad that I never have to do that again. Though I was a little concerned about going looking for the butter the other day, only to find it in my housemate's bedroom. :lol: I have my own tub of butter now.

Ferrand is merely expressing his disappointment in finding out that a girl he's getting along with really well is spoken for. Every guy has experienced that at some point. KC makes a fair point, but she's missed the sentiment of Ferrand's post. Who wouldn't be disappointed to be talking to a hot girl, getting along really well and then find out that she's spoken for and you'll never know if you guys had genuine chemistry.

The fortnightly debate on the existence of the 'friend zone' that has become a fixture of this forum is mostly down to the fact that majority of the posters in ET are young adult males. Big surprise that most of their social interactions are motivated by the possibility of sexual gratification.

Don't be daft. Friendship is all well and good, but when you're looking at a girl who's gorgeous, you guys get along really well and you're thinking "I would do terrible things to you", finding out that she 'just wants to be friends' is absolutely a consolation prize. Friends are easy to make, they come and go.

Exactly my point. I don't expect every hot girl to be into me. I rarely expect any hot girl to be in to me. Of course I'm not trying to pursue a relationship with the ones i don't like. What's the point in that? When i actually try and pursue a relationship with a girl, i get friendzoned.

It only seems that way because you're not trying to pursue a relationship with the others.

Fairly sure it isn't every hot girl. It's the ones you actually like that end up friendzoning you.
