This tour is all about the $$$'s so don't expect anything less than "biggest" and most mainstream songs.

This tour they've played nearly every single song in their catalogue. The setlist changes everynight, and nearly always includes 1/2 songs that no one expects.

So your saying they left out mainstream songs at all? I didn't mean they play 10 songs and leave, sure they will play some good stuff, I'm just saying there's no hope of going there and not seeing Death Magnetic get played. Wasn't trying to infere it would be DM plus Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, One & Fade To Black.

I'm just saying, they're obviously trying to cover their whole catalogue, and play for both the die-hard fan, and the newer fan. If the tour was 'all about the $$$'s', I don't think they'd be doing that.

They wouldn't try cater to all their fans and play out of stadiums on as many shows as they can at the most expensive price they can? I don't actually know how they can be all about the dollars moreso... :?

I saw KOL when they became big, at Acer, and that's a big reason I don't want to go to this. I don't want the experience to ruin what left I like in the band. Even though they played some lesser known songs and b-sides and whatever else, the experience wasn't the same as when I saw them the two previous times.

If they really were, they'd just be playing the same big songs, each night, and not changing things up.

I don't really see how what you're saying is them just being about the money. They're a big band, so they're expected to play big venues. They've got a huge catalogue, so they shift their setlist a lot. They have a huge stage setup, so they have to charge a bit, to get it down here. They could have played bigger venues, charged more, and just played their hits. But they're not.

Tbh, I think your just taking my point wrong. It was all in reply, and that there's zero chance of DM not being played.

They really couldn't charge much more than they are, and they couldn't really play at anything much bigger - perhaps a real stadium, but there'd be no guarantee it would sell out, and I'd suggests they make more out of multiple shows at slightly smaller arenas, as then attendees can go more than once, and they don't have to stagger the price as much.

They are still going to play all their hits, are they not? Death Magnetic has the most plays as an album (as expected), and the rest that have been played at every gig are their biggest. Their certainly seems to be a strong skeleton for the setlist, and then the pick a few different ones each night, suggesting to me they want people to come to the extra gigs in the one city if they are a big enough fan, so they'll see 3-4 more songs.

They've sold out multiple shows in each city, it's no big step to say they could have played stadiums. They've played stadiums pretty much everywhere else in the world. And they easily could have charged 200-250 for the highest priced tickets.

There's only 11 songs they've played more than 100 times on this tour. Half of those are DM songs. Considering they play about 20 songs per night, I wouldn't say there's a strong skeleton for each setlist, They're changing half the setlist every few nights.

There's a general formula that they stick to though, Funky. There's always at least four songs of d-mag, one off the black album, and two or three off each of RTL and MOP.

Yeah I know Im dreaming, I haven't even heard a song from death magnetic, I heard 1 or 2 from some kind of monster.

I hope they don't play enter sandman, as half the people I know going pretty much think it is Metallica's only song

Wow. That clearly shows they're playing only for money. So are, apparently, every single other band that tour. They've got a huge catalogue to cover, so of course each album is gonna be featured a couple of times. The fact is, they've played 78 different songs on this World Magnetic Tour. You'd struggle to find any band with the back catlogue like theirs, who varies their setlist that much.
