WGMG: Unorginal butchering US pricks. How many fucking great British shows have they copied and butchered over the years? They looked to have butchered Skins now but now they have brought the rights to a US version of The Inbetweeners which is an absolute disgrace. Why can't they butcher their own shows rather than disgrace the memories of so many quality shows

why cant they just learn a bit about other cultures so they can comprehend foreign series' and not have to americanise a good idea?

Bonkers wrote:why cant they just learn a bit about other cultures so they can comprehend foreign series' and not have to americanise a good idea? This, so often the reason their replicas are so awful is that the original concept and content just doesn't fit in the American context. It's just frustrating that they see the need to recreate it for their audiences rather than just get a clue about the world and cultures around them

They butchered Outrageous Fortune as well.
Or, as they called it, Scoundrels (not rascals, sorry)

And that's because most people know how terrible they really are. It's just as bad when the british try to rip off an american show. Original content is few and far between. It's just a point in television production where they take original content and flog the shit out of it until there's nothing left. See: Gordon Ramsay being on channel 9 three nights a week last year. See: Australain Idol being on six nights a week when it's on. See: Three nights a week of Two and a Half Men RE-RUNS! Australian tv sucks. Quote:They butchered Outrageous Fortune as well. Whaddaya mean they ripped off Outrageous Fortune? That show was MADE by the kiwi accents.

America should stick to reality TV and cartoons.
They dominate TV, (e.g. The Simpsons) they don't need to make cheap knockoffs of shows from overseas
