School starts on Friday for me :P Though I've been at school all day today and will be tomorrow due to peer support.

WAGMG: Apparently she was told by someone that I was cheating on her (I didn't). It upsets me that she doesn't trust me to be loyal, despite 3 years of me being there to support her and sticking with her through the tough times. Argh.

I've explained so it should sort itself out eventually but this pisses me off.

Gold! And kinda true...I became real friendly with this girl and when I told her I got up at 2am to watch Liverpool play every week she replied at how committed I was. She's now my girlfriend :D

They can be. I've been to a few that nearly gave me a heart attack/nearly made me jump off the 3rd level of etihad.

No doubt they can be. Being an Essendon fan at the 2009 ANZAC day match in the last row of the Olympic stand seeing Zaharakis kicking the goal was amazing! But even still the last derby was more exciting for me being on the edge of my seat all game and seeing the scum loose. I've been to more tense football games than AFL games, and I've been to ten times more AFL games.

I think that's because football is a more tense style of game overall...that's just the nature of it. Even if you're 2 goals ahead, you're tense, watching your team attack, watching the oppo attack. AFL games are more of a slow build up of tension.

Yeah and I think it also has a lot to do with football being a game of such small margins. More than most other sports, and that just increases the tension, when just one little thing can completely change the outcome of a match.

Doesn't Docklands as a stadium in general make you want to throw yourself off the third level?

That's the impression I seem to be getting from Victory (draw) fans whenever they play there.

This. The UWS system is nothing short of atrocious. Doesn't help they change the format of their website every 5 fucking minutes!

AFL games you don't really have that kind of tension until the last 10 minutes of the final quarter, and that's only if there's 3 goals or less in the game, generally.

Football that tension is in EVERY game.

I'd agree, AFL's tension comes in the last moments of the game. Also, Football has the 'high stakes' games (cups, europe, etc) which can cause much longer periods of suspense & tension.

You're going to Curtin aren't you mate? There always seems to be problems with the system. I'm lucky that this year I've got through relatively unscathed (touchwood), once I realised what I needed to enrol in. But a few of my mates have been royally fucked over by it.

You still get that in AFL at the end of the season. But you can't sustain that tension for 2+ hours the way you do in football.

They certainly can be. Watching the Swans can be torture sometimes.

^^ That and AFL sometimes is a clusterfuck and that is rather difficult to get in to
