marty - I just hate the flashing in my peripheral vision as I'm writing a post. Not to mention it makes the page load slower.

It was actually one of our sister sites getting hit hard after one of its PC articles ended up on digg and was notching up a blockbuster hit rate. Unfortunately we share server space with them and we suffered in their lagwake as a result of the traffic.

At least that annoying Dell ad is gone. The one that killed everyones PC beyond belief.

I don't understand how animated adverts are annoying. Unless they're pop-up windows like that video that appears on the homepage.

Although it took them long enough to put ads down the bottom of the page - first thing I sees when I go into threads.

I noticed the site was a bit laggy the other day and that usually means mr web guy is working on something...

All I can say is I hope the companies are paying double for their flashy banner pissing me off at the bottom of the page compared to the other companies flashy ones pissing me off slightly less at the top of the page.
