An enraged Manchester United fan killed four people when he drove his minibus into a crowd of Barcelona supporters after his team’s Champions League defeat.

Police said the Red Devils fan was so annoyed when he drove passed the jubilant Barcelona fans that he made a U-turn and ploughed into them.

The police spokeswoman said 10 people were injured and the driver was arrested.

"The driver had passed the crowd then made a U-turn and ran into them," she added.

The incident happened in the Nigerian town of Ogbo where both Champions League finalists have large fan bases.

I was watching the Spanish news from Spain on SBS yesterday and they showed a bit of the riots.
They are the really extreme Barca fans who just want to go out and wreck things.
Instead of celebrating their clubs victory they go out and break shop windows and start riots.

It's a disappointing end to a great match. Don't asssume that you know the circumstances or exactly what motivated him to attack barcelona fans in the first place either. He may not have been entirely sane, I mean after all - he was a Man U fan. But I do have to say, it's disappointing to see yet another Man U fan involved in post-game violence. Is there something in the water?

I said it was disappointing. It taints the reputation of the club and the fans. I'm not making any generalisations, I haven't said it was "typical" of the club (as random hero would). But there have been many cases reported recently of violence where United fans have been involved one way or another.

It's not even remotely close to the same. Not even in the same district.
This case was some enraged and potentially certifiably insane man U fan crashing his bus in a deliberate action against some innocent fans on the side of the street.
And you're genuinely trying to compare this to a freak stadium collapse that, though being the result of two feuding parties it was not their direct actions taht resulted in the disaster and you seem to be indicating that Liverpool fans were the 'bad guys' in the whole drama despite the fact that Juventus fans rioted for several hours attacking polics and Liverpool fans after emergency crews arrived.

So unless the Barcelona fans were firing rocks at the van the Man U fan was driving, causing him to crash into a telegraph pole wich fell on them and crushed them, the two events are VERY different.
