Neill now linked with Atletico Madrid 03.09.09 | Andrew Slevison Former West Ham captain Lucas Neill is now being linked with Spanish club Atletico Madrid. The Australian international, who is currently a free agent after his contract with the Hammers expired at the end of last season, is reportedly close to joining Atletico according to The Sun. It is believed that Neill has been offered £1.56million a year by the Spaniards which would be £5,000 less than what he was offered by West Ham to return to Upton Park. Although the initial figure is less, Neill will only be taxed 20 per cent in Spain, meaning he will actually receive over £300,000 more than if he remained in England. Britain's 50 per cent rate for high earners comes in next April. http://www.tribalfootball.com/neill-now-linked-atletico-madrid-294271http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2619620/Wantaway-Neills-up-and-At-it.htmlGo u fat cunt. Its Champions league football + change in scenery. If this is anything to go by, he will join (apparently). it will be an amazing move. LOL@Neill speaking spanish. IM loving Our World Cup line up + the clubs associated with them or rumored to be associated with them: --------------------------------Mark Viduka (West Ham Utd)---------------------------- ----------Kewell (FMR Liverpool)------Cahill (Everton)----------Emerton(Blackburn)- -------------------------------Culina (fmr PSV)---Grella (Blackburn)--------------- ---Carney (Twente)--Moore (Fmr Rangers)---Neill (Atletico Madrid)---Wilkshire (Dynamo Moscow) -----------------------------------Schwarzer (Fulham)------------------------------ Question is, do we play Emo at RB or RW with Bresicano as RM. Lone striker is Mark Viduka's if he returns No questions asked. (even a half Mark viduka, if that makes sense). Because thats what system Pim will play and he wont change it not even for the WC. But atm im not a big fan of bres, he is very slow. and his quality on the ball hasnt been good as of late. Emerton Gives us some pace at RW and his quality crosses are second to none. Hes also not a bad FK taker as Aston Villa found out last season. Edited by seriously: 3/9/2009 01:33:31 PM

LOL. Its in the Sun and Tribal Football. Quite possibly the two worst sources in football. Quote:Question is, do we play Emo at RB or RW with Bresicano as RM. Re: Bolded part: Thats incorrect. A half fit Mark Viduka is close to useless. Every time you hear the pundits talking about him returning, they always precede it with 'a fully fit'. Dukes is the kind of player who needs to be at the peak of his game physically to be effective. Otherwise, he gets tired after 30mins, and nobody wants a player on the pitch who is like that. Edited by imnofreak: 3/9/2009 02:08:17 PM Would you prefer Mcdonald to play LS or perhaps Joshua Kennedy, against Brazil or Argentina. LOL @ THAT. Theyll lose the ball every time, especially mcdonald who is only 5 8. Im just hoping viduka plays and is fit. His achilles has had plenty of time to heal. Its just a matter of getting back to fitness.

A fully fit Kennedy or McDonald is a far greater asset than a half-fit Viduka. A fully fit Viduka was a hand-full for defences in the past - but no matter how good he may have appeared at the end of last season, it's an unavoidable fact that with an array of attacking quality around him he was still unable to score or make any goals in that run in. I believe 'flattered to deceive' is the term.

I believe 'flattered to deceive' is the term. He seemed to do fine at Middlesbrough, Fulham and Liverpool, This is about playing football in the world cup. Viduka brings an added dimension. Lets be realistic. Kennedy will get flicked over by a decent teams defense, ive seen him play as LS for Karlshrue, and thats why his manager put him out for 6 months because he was so ineffective and not scoring goals. And mcdonald IS plain and simply not a lone striker. Viduka is one of the best Hold up players on his day and the world cup requires his wealth of experience and his strength to bring the 3 midfielders into play. THATS why, Kewell, Cahill and Emerton said they would love to have Viduka back. We need him. Many on here (not all), fail to realize his importance to the formation that pim uses. It still baffles me. Edited by seriously: 3/9/2009 06:29:41 PM

Need i mention his MOM performance against Boro, he also scored against Fulham only for the fuckwitt referee to rule it out for no apparent reason.

Hes not comfortable in that role and nor should he be. He is a box striker (and a good one). But Pim wont play with him up front with a partner. Otherwise id obviously prefer Mcdonald with Viduka or kennedy. If we are to play LS at the world cup, then a fit (Fingers crossed), Mark Viduka will take precedence every time and rightfully so. But you persist in making fucking idiot statements that exceed the boundaries of stupidity. Hands up here if you would rather Not read anything related to any move of any socceroo and i post nothing instead and all of 442 post nothing instead Until the move is actually made? Get my reasoning on why your a fucking dumb twat? Do yourself a favour and dont post in my threads unless you have something constructive to say. Otherwise get the fuck out and play with your penis for all i care. Youll post when constructive comments are deserved? So when in this article wasnt it deserved? where did it have no relevance to australian football? Again you prove your a child (most likely a highschool student) with nothing else to say or do except offer nothing. Plainly fuck off, and grow the fuck up. You entered this thread with nothing to say or contribute, other than add to the tally of your post count. A count that shows how many useless comments you made already. How the fuck do you have Dukes upfront and linked with westham.. Skoko's quoted on the world game as saying once Dukes finishes his holiday in Croatia he'll retire and move back to Melbourne. http://www.theworldgame.com.au/aussies-abroad/end-of-the-road-for-viduka-231262

   Seriously, you don't get it do you? None of those articles have sources either#-o #-o #-o
Actually, no, the Foxsports one does. Yep, it sources The Sun, one of your original linked articles. Don't you understand? It doesn't matter how many articles there are about it. Until it's on a reputable, reliable news source, with official sources and quotes, it's 99% bullshit.
Sure, post articles and threads about socceroos. Just try and make them realistic next time. It's not worth starting a thread every time some worthless site mentions an Australians name.

I guess well find out then in the coming week or so if Neill joins Atletico or not or if Dukes joins West Ham or not.. I make these threads because they are interesting Not becasue they are factual. You would be a fool to think otherwise. Why wouldnt you want to read about Neill Joining altetico?

Seems like Duke$ is just doing a Luca$h Who cares, as long as it gets him a club, and West ham aint to shabby (alot better than fulham, who cant even get the ball to their strikers) and certainly neither is Atletico. If they both join their rumored club, then i will be a happy man. Means that all the the people in the Above line up will be playing top class football in all very good leagues and very good clubs in the lead up to the WC. The only worry i have is who will partner neill in defense. I tentatively put Moore due to his experince. But hes not exactly playing top flight football and even then hasn't been his best as of late. That position is a real problem for us. Edited by seriously: 3/9/2009 06:23:58 PM

I might as well set my Facebook status to 'United set to sign Mcdonald for 60million'. Its about as reputable as The Sun. Foxsports wrote:Word coming out of Australia is that Scott Mcdonald is joining Man utd for a whopping 60million. Imnofreaks Facebook reports that the move is imminent. Is there any proof? No. Do we care? No.
Andy Harper I would bet my hat that neither of those moves will come to fruition. Edited by imnofreak: 3/9/2009 06:26:32 PM
